Sideboard

Maybeboard

Copied from SirEpic Molten Nursery Wins. Wanted to make it a bit cheaper and more my style but it's the same general idea.

Basically I want to trigger Molten Nursery, untap Nettle Drone, and pump Kozilek's Sentinel with colorless spells, hopefully made cheaper by Herald of Kozilek. If the deck works correctly, I should barely have to swing to win.

What I Took Out

Alchemist's Vial , Ghostfire Blade (to make it more budget, but I may put this in if I can find some without breaking the bank), Hangarback Walker (Again for budget), Pilgrim's Eye , Blighted Cataract (That's an expensive draw and you lose a mana source, it may go back in, we'll see) and Day's Undoing (Budget and it doesn't really fit my style).

What I Added

Altar of the Brood even though this card is gone soon, it just felt right for this deck. It's a form of milling as well as another colorless spell trigger for only 1 mana. Horribly Awry for early game to keep some control as I ramp things up, we'll see how it tests plays, may not be necessary, though it is a colorless spell yet again. Spell Shrivel again more control, the countered spell gets exiled and it's a colorless spell trigger. Spidersilk Net It's a free colorless spell trigger and if I need to swat flyers it gives me options.

Again, any suggestions on the main or especially the sideboard (where I struggle most...) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys. :)

Update 11/24/2015

After a decent showing at Friday Night Magic, I realized this deck doesn't have staying power due to all the cheap creatures. So, I moved my four control spells Horribly Awry and Spell Shrivel to the side board for now and I've added two Eldrazi Devastator until I get two Void Winnower to replace them.

This way, I've got a little more power if turns go longer, he's got trample, and potentially would only cost me 4 mana if I somehow had all four Herald of Kozilek out.

I've also added two Tide Drifter. They're cheap walls that make all my other colorless creatures tougher, and with War Horn or possibly Ghostfire Blade they can even swing if need be.

Update 11/29/2015

After getting some great suggestions from the folks on the forums here, I decided to try and create a black splash (Grixis?) version of this deck and see if that worked: Darkworld Molten Daddy Daycare

Went 1 for 3, two of my losses were in three, one of them in two. Three of the decks I played were Esper Dragon Control, nearly identical decks, beat one of them, went for three against an aggro red but it was a fun match. While playing the red aggro, the Spidersilk Net was invaluable for easy/cheap extra toughness as he had playsets of Exquisite Firecraft and Fiery Impulse. It was also helpful against the Ojutai control since I could at least chump block Ojutai.

I wasn't able to get the Ghostfire Blade that I needed or the Altar of the Brood, so I subbed those with Alchemist's Vial and War Horn. Got a lot of compliments on the deck though and it was fun to play. I'll definitely be playing this one again, just sick of playing the same Esper Dragon control deck over and over, I would appreciate any suggestions on how best to deal with it.
