DanMcSharp I will tell you the Imp is mainly in to control the skies. While I do have removal in the deck, nothing removes quite like a tiny little 1/2 with Deathtouch. I do like the potential for adding in Hateful Eidolon as one thing I'd been looking for in my playtests is a bit of extra draw. Same with Lochthwain really, especially later in game when my mana is just sitting there

I would go Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage over Mind Rot, if your goal is to keep an opponent’s hand empty.

Maybe Murderous Rider would be good here? It’s both removal and devotion for Gary.

PuddinWing The only real issue I have with Davriel is that he rotates soon otherwise he'd have been an auto-include

Kitesail Freebooter over Mind Rot maybe?
It'll Survive a Kaervek in play, has flying, costs less, and lets you choose a card even if it's one less.
A big cheap black fatty would be nice if you can find one too.
Also, I'd suggest cutting some if your higher mana cost cards for earlier plays as it looks like it takes you a bit to get going.

Massacre Girl might be a worthwhile include. While she might sometimes prove worse than Kaervek, if your opponents have even 1 creature with 1 toughness, she and massacre wurm will wipe the board completely. Because of her less one-sides nature and her effect only being temporary, maybe you should run her in the sideboard, though I could see replacing Kaervek with her.

I would add 2 more Hateful Eidolon I run it and it's just a monster of a card. Even one or two payoffs early can swing the game.
If you ever run Fetid Imp again maybe you can sub in Lurrus of the Dream-Den for either Kearvek or Gray. In addition to recurring your enchantments for the spirit. You can recur your deathtouch flyer, which would be strong.

I would add Cling to Dust because A) It shuts out decks that like stuff in their graveyards, which is important because you will probably fill their graveyard through the game, B) It has escape for rogues, and C) the card and the life can help a lot of things in games.

Why use Mind Drain? Vicious Rumors is a better card IMO.

Ninjew42 when Standard legal, it definitely was. If not built for standard I would probably use both cards to be fair.
Also this deck is going to get a decent overhaul with Kaldheim coming out soon. Tergrid, God of Fright Flip and Lili will play well together I think

Ninjew42 no worries. I appreciate you checking out the deck and the upvote.

Hello,
Did you consider Soul Shatter to trigger Tergrid, God of Fright Flip? Also, Rankle, Master of Pranks would also work really well to force both discards and creature sacrifices.
Your opponents often won't have many cards left to discard, if at all, so it would probably be safer to use Skull Raid instead of Mind Drain , or a combination of the 2, just so you don't end up with a dead card in your hand against your empty handed opponent.
Cheers!

DanMcSharp thanks for the suggestions. I forgot about Soul Shatter so I'll probably need to find a way to work it in. I did consider Rankle, just don't like what I'd have to remove in order to fit him in. Skull Raid is a possibility as obviously the card draw is good. Mind Drain won't ever be a dead card though because it is doing things besides forcing discard and Liliana doesn't care how the creatures get in the graveyard, just that they are there for her ultimate. I'll have to look and see what tweaks can be made

Hello,
I don't think Thought Distortion belongs in this deck. It's meant to be used mostly as a sideboard card, possibly to be fetched with something like Fae of Wishes to really hit a hard on a control player that has a hand full of good stuff. In this deck, your opponent will be mostly empty-handed by the time you cast it. You will maybe make them discard 1 or 2 cards at best, if you're lucky.
Fetid Imp is pretty weak and taxes you 1 mana just to remain useful. If you really want a deathtouch creature, you could use Mire Triton instead, but if I was you I would use Yarok's Fenlurker instead, a typical 2 drop in any discard deck, and it would fuel your devotion better for Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
Kaervek, the Spiteful is an interesting addition, but since he's not always useful and is legendary, I would only run a single copy, maybe 2 if you really like him. Would kill a Yarok's Fenlurker if you decide to use some too.
Mire's Grasp and Dead Weight would work really well with Hateful Eidolon, could be an worthwhile addition. Btw, since you already run those as creature removal, you could swap some Grasp of Darkness for Eliminate so that you can also hit planeswalkers.
You should also run a few Castle Locthwain, no real reasons not to tbh.
Hopefully these suggestions are useful, cheers!
