I would absolutely do that. If I had the money. I'm going to try to aquire some Thoughtseize , but it's a bit out of my price range.

Okay, but in the mean time I think I would recomend duress over mind rot. Their cheap to purchase and rather effective.

I do have some Duress . I'll add those instead. Thank you.

I would consider 1 or 2 Underworld Connections to help with the mid game as well as to feed packrat

aFriendlyAlly I wondered about Underworld Connections . I was thinking I could at least sideboard a couple.

That seems like a good idea. I'll work on grabbing some Underworld Connections .

Have you thought about Gray Merchant of Asphodel ?

Mono-Black gives you a huge devotion and he'll hit like a truck. Gary is king of the day.

BlitzOmen I just picked up four Gray Merchant of Asphodel a couple days ago and haven't added them to the list yet. I planned on adding some to the sideboard at least. I wasn't sure if he would be a great fit since this is deck is focused more on aggro than devotion, but I know he can help in games that I can't win quickly.

Do you want to turn this into a devotion deck? If so add Gray merchant, if you want to keep it aggro, dont.

That's the problem I'm having with keeping Gary in the sideboard now. It's not fitting with the Aggro archetype.

I came up with a Mono Black aggro strategy quite a while ago and have been running it to success over the last month or so.

From my experience, Gary doesn't work, as he is just too slow in 99% of match ups.

At the moment, your deck is fairly stock, and what everyone is expecting out of MBA. This list has been floating around just as long as my version has. If you want to get the edge on people, do something that they don't expect at all. Try out ditching some removal for enchantments, as a turn 2 Tormented Hero with a Dark Favor is pretty big in this meta. Also, Spiteful Returned .

I don't advise Pack Rat . I feel that it's just gotten to be awful in this standard environment, and it'll throw you off so much by either being a distraction, getting d-sphere'd, or rid you of all of your card advantage. Or worse, all three. I just think that there are better two drops.

If you'd like to see what other people are doing with this archetype, here's a link to the list that I came up with: The Nightman Cometh.... Hope that gives some sort of inspiration.

ThatBlueMage I understand what you are saying. I've considered changing some strategies, but I want to get some games in with this deck before I overhaul anything. I have thought about adding some enchantments for Tormented Hero . I'll keep all of it in mind and adjust to my local meta as needed. Thank you.

How much Whip possibly be doing here for you? Your creatures are all tiny and you'd be spending 4 mana to reanimate, like, a Rakdos Cackler. I'd opt for bigger things up in the curve. Desecration Demon comes to mind.

Yeah I haven't been real happy with Whip of Erebos . I'm going to cut it. I used to run some Desecration Demon , but I found he was too slow and clunky for the aggro I was trying to run. I'm going to try to grab some Lifebane Zombie , but other than that I am not sure about high-curve creatures. Bestow is my best midrange threat here.

You could always just go up to 4 Herald and 4 Pain Seer . Herald adds a lot of pressure and Pain Seer is your only real draw engine.

Yeah I've been trying to get a 4th Herald of Torment for a while now. Going to purchase it this week. A 4th Pain Seer is a good idea too.

Mabye I should be more clear. I am NOT random spamming. This is my B/r Aggro deck. :D

Jett_Thistle says... #23

I disagree with @RonThaWikidThis is aggro, not a form of control. It would be much better to play a fast creature then one that really just can't attack.

Jett check my aggro I won fnm in.my area with it. Its called aggravated control im New and don't know how to put the link up yet srry

Jett_Thistle says... #25

It is fair, but you can make it much better. If you want aggro I would definitely go without the brain maggot as that doesn't do what we want it to do which is deal damage. If you look at my deck: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/05-05-14-br-aggro-2/ I run Herald of Torment and Master of the Feast both as four-of's
