Mono-black deck based on creatures that my opponent can't block, or give me life when blocked.

EARLY GAME

Festering Newt is a great one-drop for keeping early creatures at bay. If drawn late game, it's always nice to sacrifice to Bubbling Cauldron. Child of Night helps out by buffing my life total early on. Also a great card to pump up to a 5/2 with Dark Favor.

LATE GAME

Deathgaze Cockatrice and Insatiable Harpy have evasion and effects, while Accursed Spirit and Lifebane Zombie are hard to block. Abhorrent Overlord spams the board with tokens and if the game has gone on that long, I've usually got enough devotion to make at least 5 or 6 harpies. Gray Merchant of Asphodel plays off devotion nicely also.

REMOVAL

Doom Blade for late game and Pharika's Cure for the early or black creatures.
