Thanks for the suggestion, but I chose Deathgaze Cockatrice over Desecration Demon because I had them already and it's not getting rotated out for a bit longer. But no question that he's better :D

I would definitely switch the Hero's Downfall with the Doom Blade s. It's much better to have a card that's usable against monoblack, esper, monowhite (ajani), and R/G (domri) than to have card that's situational. Also look at your mana curve, the three slot is begging for Hero's Downfall . You should also consider Bile Blight over Pharika's Cure .

@electromancer: I think I'm going to keep the Hero's Downfall sideboarded, mainly because they cost more to play than Doom Blade and swap them in game 2 if necessary. I also do like Bile Blight a lot though. That's definitely going in for Pharika's Cure . Thanks!

@ControlDET: I am a fan of Squelching Leeches . Maybe I'll swap him in for the Deathgaze Cockatrice or Liliana's Reaver when they rotate out. I'll playtest him, but I've see a lot of weenie decks lately, and since this deck can't give trample or flying to him, he's probably going just to get chunk blocked. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Looks interesting! Very interesting actually! But why the Deathgaze Cockatrice ? Why not put in 2x Desecration Demon instead? Same mana, much more efficient card.

Personally I love the idea behind this deck. I am going to attempt to test this deck out on Cockatrice with a few personal changes. I would like to see how it would run if you dropped a Whip of Erebos for Erebos, God of the Dead and took out the Pharika's Chosen for 2 Gnarled Scarhide and 2 Grim Guardian

Oh definitely let me know how it runs! Personally I like the Pharika's Chosen over Gnarled Scarhide . The big hitters from my deck are the Master of the Feast s. The Pharika's Chosen are there to hold off early aggro by scaring them with deathtouch blockers. Gnarled Scarhide is nice for the early 2 power, but not being able to block makes it less ideal in my mind.

And the 3 cost mana for Grim Guardian seems a bit steep to me. But maybe replacing the Deathgaze Cockatrice s would work. They seemed to be the least effective card in the deck (mostly cause they weren't Desecration Demon s).

Let me know how the Erebos, God of the Dead works! I found the lifelink from the whip to be too useful, so I'm hesitant.

I've only got 7 cards in the deck that give me life...Gray Merchant of Asphodel and the lifelink from Whip of Erebos . I'm not sure how useful it would be.

I came back to magic not too long ago and saw where I had commented on this and I never got back to you. The deck ran rather swell when I ran it. Made a few adjustments that I couldn't remember but overall was great!
