Phylactery Lich is one of my favorite cards. So when I picked up MTG Arena last month after a couple years break from the game, I was happy to see that he had been reprinted in M19 and I immediately sat down to create a deck around him for Arena. This is the result.

This deck is built around getting out an early Phylactery Lich (ideally T3) and then bombing from the air with a suite of demons: Demon of Catastrophes, Doom Whisperer.

Barrier of Bones and Seekers' Squire, help find a Phylactery Lich or Artifact absent from our starting hand and act as fodder for Demon of Catastrophes and/or as early blockers.

The Artifacts in the deck, in addition to serving as objects in which Phylactery Lich can store a fragment of his soul in exchange for immortality, are useful in their own right. Fountain of Renewal provides its own form of quasi-immortality through passive regeneration and acts as a brake on aggro/burn decks. Amulet of Safekeeping taxes burn decks and diminishes tokens. Cobbled Wings gives Phylactery Lich flying, allowing him to close out games or proc Rogue's Gloves over grounded defenders, or block enemy flyers. Rogue's Gloves and Treasure Map   provide draw to keep the deck from stalling out in longer games.

In addition to being a badass in his own right, Phylactery Lich is even better in multiples when you can spread phylactery counters across different artifacts. He is already immune to most removal and having multiple horcruxes out means even rare artifact hate will be ineffective alone. is our biggest threat, with its various tools to arrest, exile, or pacify without killing.

Kitesail Freebooter spies opponents' hands, takes away threats, and has flying to trigger Rogue's Gloves when the skies are clear.

Murder and Golden Demise are our removal and help maintain the initiative.

Memorial to Folly resurrects a fallen Phylactery Lich, Demon of Catastrophes, or Doom Whisperer.

All in all, I have been having a lot of fun playing this on Arena and I look forward to reading your thoughts and suggestions! As mentioned, I have not played recently (not since BFZ) and am not very familiar with the current sets.
