As a control player in standard, one of the last things I would want to see is a Worldspine Wurm , but fortunately for me not many people seem to run it. I better hope that I have a counter if you try to hard cast it, but if you cheat it in with Garruk, Caller of Beasts I better hope that I have a kill spell (with mana to play it on the turn you cheat it in) AND a boardwipe.

@ vasiliosn I've built a mono-devotion deck for each color. None of them have lands that tap for more than 1 color but all of them run gold cards. Hate to break it to you but the only true rule of deck building in magic is what you can and cannot do and it's a fact that you can cast multicolored cards in a mono-colored deck as long as the multicolored cards are hybrids. In this case and in the case of all of my mono-devotion decks, they're all hybrids. Quit trolling and go back to playing Yugioh! Noob.

Screw you Metamorphic1992 plus you're a little late. I stopped arguing after I proved my point, you can't make me go back on it, it's not a mono green devo.

Lands: Only tap for green (with the exception of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx which you technically could tap for two red for each Burning-Tree Emissary ).

Creatures: All green.

That a creature or card uses a dual-color mana symbol does not invalidate the deck's mono-color status. Only in Commander would that be a violation, but that's because Commander has special rules designed around the whole idea of a Commander.

Quit being a pedant. The worst kind of pedant is an INCORRECT one. I wouldn't mind if you weren't so terribly wrong, but you are. So shut up.

I think it is a great deck, however i dont know about the four arbor colouses and the two worldspine wurm. i also think that sylvan caryated is not necissary, try kamera's acolyte in its place. perhaps boon satyr lr deadbridge goliath for devotion and counters for kaloinian hydra. if you want check out my take on mono green devotion and let me know what you think

I would take out the Coursers, because most of the time you'll be flipping over something that's not a land, and it'll just be giving your opponent free information. Instead I would just put in 2 additional Garruks, because if you can protect him for 1 turn, he's pretty much unstoppable.

Solidarity of Heroes can be great in this deck.

strangely enough, I'm not really digging Garruk, Caller of Beasts in this deck. If it was Garruk Wildspeaker it would be a different story, but big fat garruk seems to actually slow things down in this deck.

Still, in playtesting I had a 32/32 Heroes' Bane on turn 6 and Nylea was on the field to give him trample, so that's fun. +1 just for that.

lol forget the 32/32 Heroes' Bane , I did did monstrosity = 27 on a Hydra Broodmaster to put out 27 27/27 tokens. On turn 5. Though I did "nut draw" and had all 4 Voyaging Satyr s (some of which were drawn off garruk). This deck is insane.

Thanks Grimgrinner!

I like the Garruk, Caller of Beasts simply to restock my hand after I dump it all on the field.

The new hydras are pretty much beasts, both Heroes' Bane and Hydra Broodmaster I was really happy with them.

Garruk is ridiculous in a deck like this. Trust me. I have a similar deck, and if I can protect Garruk for just 1 turn, I am pretty much guaranteed the game.

Id play Courser of Kruphix over Sylvan Caryatid any day. The any color mana doesn't really help and courser will stop you from drawing in the that land late game. Also the life gain helps put off aggro decks. Do you really care if your opponent sees your Polukranos, World Eater ? Not like they can do much unless they have a counter spell and that just opens them up to your bigger spells

Scourge of Skola Vale might be a decent sideboard card. To put in against something with lots of spot removal.

Curious what the game plan is against UW or Esper Control and Monoblack variants? Ranger's Guile and Mending Touch can work wonders in a deck like this where all you need is the 1G to preserve something that could be crucial on a given turn.

if this is devotion i would recomend Kalonian Tusker to add GG maybe some Rubblebelt Raiders for 1 g/r g/r g/r all huge devotion . my deck is very similar to yours but i took out the Heroes' Bane for 5 drop the Kalonian Hydra does a much better job at making everything crazy. Plus it spreads the whole board

I would add just one Rogue's Passage . A 32/32 unblockable Kalonian Hydra is pretty awesome. Nice deck btw.

Worldspine Wurm ? He is the quintessential green fattie in Standard right now, and he's 3 devo...

I know it's devotion, but I feel like Ruric Thar, the Unbowed would really go well in this deck for two reasons:

1) You don't have any spells that will hurt you with him. I found that running Ruric in a very creature-heavy deck (see above) makes you love him even more. He becomes a R/G control card! Everybody else will have to either take the 6 or let you incubate your hydras, but you will have all the freedom you could possibly want!

2) He's a great defender. Yeah he'll attack every turn, but he is a 6/6 with vigilance AND reach. He frees up your fatties to attack, while also sneaking in a cheap 6 when the guy across the board has to chump block Polly and Mama H's kids.

I'm not sure why I felt the need to defend my suggestion so vehemently, but thus it has fallen. +1, great deck!

I would suggest a reduction in the number of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to 3 or 2 and replace with either as SilentSpook said a Rogue's Passage or forest.
