The name is a bit of a misnomer as evolutionary leap and eldritch evolution aren't necessarily part of the combo, but they are a large part of the deck's consistency engine. The goal of the deck is to use rite of passage to "refill" your graft creatures after they graft their counters onto a persist creature to negate the downside of persist. Eldritch evolution and evolutionary leap are the sacrifice engines to trigger the persist abilities, with the side benefit of also being able to fetch the win condition of the deck, walking ballista. In the event that walking ballista bites the dust, a mix of rite of passage and hardened scales while using your persist creatures to chump block should be able to ramp your graft creatures in order to go tall. Note that this is, in fact, a budget variant of this deck. if you would like to expand the deck I would suggest trading 2x rendclaw trow and 2x safehold elite for 4x kitchen finks. As for the graft creatures, I am unsure of more efficient options for this deck, although I would personally invest in more walking ballista as well.
