Everything has counters, or can get them easily. And with each creature being 1-3 mana, it goes fast and grows out of control. Things get pretty beefy near turn 4-5, and can pretty consistently dish out 20-30 damage (in one shot) by turn 5 if unblocked.
Half the creatures have Evolve, with Renegade Krasis spreading the counter love. Ooze Flux helps recycle his Evolve mechanic into more creatures and more counter spreading, all for just 1G, which Gyre Sage and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx love to dump mana into.
To make sure stuff Evolves, we have Avatar of the Resolute and Mistcutter Hydra, because I hate Blue.
Basic strategy is to play the one drops, then the Krasis, and then the Avatars/Hydras/Endless Ones to pump up the counters on the board. Lastly, overkill by turn 5, or (with skill and abuse of ooze flux) drop them to -100 on turn 6. Just try to play on tempo as much as possible, use all available mana in a turn, and hit those Evolve triggers as soon as you can. Playing cards in the right order is key.
One Drops
Elvish Mystic is here for some early ramp.
Experiment One is an easy counter generator at the early game, and a good late game blocker. Once the counters get flowing he's hard to remove.
Servant of the Scale exists solely as another counter on the board. With one or more
Hardened Scales this creature can Evolve our early game
Experiment One and
Gyre Sage, maybe even
Renegade Krasis.
Hardened Scales takes this deck to the next level of power. In most cases it's a win-more, but in some cases it helps to trigger Evolve, not just make it more potent.
Endless One and
Mistcutter Hydra are here to ensure we hit our Evolve triggers on
Renegade Krasis. Both are relevant at every stage in the game, with Endless being a bit better for Evolving on tempo at the early game.
Two Drops
Gyre Sage is an important part of this deck. Evolving her may take some grace, but it's important she start doing so fast. If possible, use
Renegade Krasis to Evolve her, or a
Hardened Scales + Servant of the Scale
combo. Try to save
Avatar of the Resolute,
Endless One, and
Mistcutter Hydra until after the
Renegade Krasis hits the field, but if you can't wait then just Evolve her any way you can on turn 3.
Avatar of the Resolute is still much a bomb card. Don't sit on him for a wide board. Just get him out when he can be large enough to Evolve a
Renegade Krasis.
Three Drops
Renegade Krasis is the backbone of this deck. With a deck full of creatures that are small, it's easy to go wide, but this guy makes them go tall, too. You want to Evolve this guy as much as possible. Set up the board with 1-2 drop creatures with counters, then lay down the Krasis, and then pump put
Avatar of the Resolute,
Endless One, and
Mistcutter Hydra to keep him Evolving. Add more
Renegade Krasis and
Hardened Scales to take the counter making into the stratosphere.
Champion of Lambholt turns all those counters we make into making our creatures unblockable. She is incredibly easy to pump up and negates all chump blockers.
Inspiring Call acts as a combat trick, survival spell, and hand restock.
Four Drops
Ooze Flux is a fantastic card. Used in conjunction with
Gyre Sage and/or
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx it can trigger several times. Use this to strip off 3 or more counters (including all counters from any
Renegade Krasis) in order to not only reset a
Renegade Krasis but to Evolve it, too, adding additional counters on all our guys for just 2 mana each time. For each additional Krasis out, remove 1 counter from each creature to ensure they still grow as well as making bigger ooze tokens. With copies of
Hardened Scales out, increase the number of counters you remove from creatures by another 1 or 2. Suddenly oozes are huge, your guys are huge, and
Gyre Sage makes double digit mana.
Ooze Flux is an extremely important part of this deck to take it from "Evolve Beatdown" to "Sweet glory, what is happening?!"
