This is my take on a mono-green heroic deck.
This deck is slower than other heroic decks such as a white/red centric aggressive strategies. This deck's main goal is to ramp into creatures that start off relatively small, but get positively huge once you start pulling out the heroic triggers.
As an overview, I feel like having 19 creatures, 18 triggers, and 23 land is working well in initial playtesting. Normally I prefer slightly less triggers in a heroic deck, but in this deck, we'll be building more tall and less wide and therefore we need less creatures. (For example, in a white-centric deck, you would probably want to build wide to take advantage of Phalanx Leader and Brave the Elements. That is not the goal of this green deck.)
Some cards of note:Hero of Leina Tower: This and Setessan Oathsworn is what inspired me to build this deck. She's weak early, but she is green's only 1-drop heroic and can get very, very big later.
Setessan Oathsworn: Besides Hero, the cheapest green heroic. A 1/1 for 3 is never ever a good deal... however, if your opponent leaves this unchecked, Oathsworn will do major work because getting 2 +1/+1 counters for each heroic is a big deal. As an example, if you swing with this puny 1/1 with two Giant Growths in hand, you can pump it to 11/11.
Hunter's Prowess: Yes, a 5 mana sorcery. Yes, requires a creature on the field. But this card can win you games. The vast majority of the time, you will be drawing an insane amount of cards or your opponents will make a disadvantageous trade. Good as a 2-of so far.
Ordeal of Nylea, Elvish Mystic: In case you haven't noticed, the mana cost of this deck can be rather intensive. These help smooth out the curve and mana issues (and Ordeal even triggers heroic).
Ranger's Guile, Mortal's Resolve: No point in building tall if your opponent can just Doom Blade or Surpreme Verdict your board. These cards help make sure your heroes stay firmly on the battlefield.
So what do you think? What can make this deck better? What are good choices for the sideboard?
