so since week one i worked the deck and the side board as things didnt work and tried to work around my meta.
i went 2-1-2 this week which got me two pitty packs as my venue pays out the top half.
round 1 just lost 0-2 to affinity which is understandable. but what really salted me was game one i mulled to 5 and had to keep a one lander to not draw any land for the next 4 draws. and to have it come in tapped. lol the next game he got the nut hand and i just couldnt get a raking Canopy to save my life.
Round two played a Azban Control. game one was mine with a nice opener and game two after a sweet Scavenging ooze Targeting battle to eat graveyards and get life and counters i drew NO JOKE 9 Land in a row. while top decking. So he was able to get a Liliana Zombie ult off and it was just his after that while he was at 8life and me at 33
game 3 went to time with his killing my Leather back on turn 4of5 with 4 life.
Round 3 played one of my buddys got it 2-1 game one was his he played an bant exalted deck? and flying is this decks weak point. game one he just gained alot of life and hit really hard and after swinging for 18 damage we laughed as his life total was still 16 game two I out valued him with a nut hand. then THIS PART IS A GOOD LESSON ON STATIC ABILITIES. in the cruch time game 3 I had Dryad militant and Strangle root geist on board as well as some other dude (i cant remember) but anyway. he grabed a path from graveyard with Eternal Witness with was fine and then pathed the Geist. the next turn board wiped i top another Strangleroot Geist. his turn he casts another Witness targeting the path he had just casted. I inform him the path was exiled when he last casted it. He claimed i missed the trigger. BUT IT WAS STATIC EFFECT AND MANDATORY if i had pointed it out any later and he put the path in hand an moved on to next turn phase that would have been that, i would have lost the game so WATCH YOUR EFFECTS not just the triggers.
Round 4 2-0 against scape shift. open field and i just rushed to games in a row not alot to say.
Round 5 played Soul sisters and with the life gain and the flying i lost 0-2 as i didnt see any side board cards i since then added another Raking Canopy
