If youre running the caryatids, consider Axebane Guardian and Gatecreeper Vine

I really like this deck. But I am hesitant about the lack of sorceries and instants, but, it still looks freakin' cool to play!

Perhaps adding in two Breeding Pool s if you add in the Prophet of Kruphix ?\

Don't be fooled by the Defender ramp strategy! It's too easily disrupted, and takes too long to get going. (Not to mention that Gatecreeper Vine is terrible, and certainly not Standard-playable.) Mystic, Caryatid and Nykthos (combined with your many green mana symbols) should be more than enough to get you where you want to go.

You may also want to look into a couple of Savage Summoning for the sideboard against control, to stop them from countering everything you ever try to do - possibly replace an Alpha Authority and a Pit Fight ?

The reason I put down Axebane Guardian is so there are more reliable ways in the deck to get multicolor mana. This deck was running golgari charms, at least in sideboard?

Hmm that's a fair call I guess, easy enough to throw in a few Overgrown Tomb and/or Golgari Guildgate to cover that as well ;)

Dropbear Axebane Guardian is okay, and I have considered before, but honestly a little slow for my deck - turn 2 I want to be ideally putting out the bow, or another Elvish Mystic and Kalonian Tusker , thank you for the suggestion in regards to Golgari Charm though, but yeah probably going to pop in a few Overgrown Tomb s :)

I was pretty scared at first running no main board instant or sorceries, but can have removal through Polukranos, Life gain/counters/removal through the Bow, Trample through Nylea and even protection with Mistcutter so I've opted to only side them in against particularly tricksy decks!

Arcticus Savage Summoning is very tempting! One mana to make sure my creature is definitely going into play is certainly worth it.. Not to mention potentially flashing in my creature too for maximum effect. May have to add a few to my order today! (literally going to be the most I've ever spent on singles haha but hopefully should be worth it!) I'll be sure to check out your deck soon :D

Verdant Haven and Ordeal of Nylea are good for Mana Ramp, and if you run some copies of Bioshift the Ordeal could be used in conjunction with Crowned Ceratok to give a number of creatures trample.

yeah i would think about adding 2 more Vastwood Hydra too bc if u have the ordeals u get ur two lands say they doom blade him his counters move over, not to mention if u had a vastwood plus a kalonian out and they say use celestial flare, (of course u atk with both) u sac vastwood and move his counters to the kalonian :)

u definitely need more reach, flying would give you a really hard time

P1NG4S I'm not a huge fan of Verdant Haven tbh, it would be good for the black I may need for Golgari Charm , but 3 mana is a bit pricey for me. Ordeal of Nylea is a little tempting, especially as I can literally chuck it on a creature that already has +1 counters and go straight for the land, but it won't be as good as it should be soon when I replace my Crowned Ceratok s with more Nylea, God of the Hunt s, thanks for the ideas though :)

Edeadda Vastwood Hydra is good, but I don't have any more and decided to splash my cash on Kalonian Hydra s instead, if they don't work out for some reason though, Vastwood is certainly in my "backup plan" list!

Dropbear Polukranos, World Eater can destroy a flier on becoming monstrous, as can Arbor Colossus , and I've got three Windstorm in my sideboard so hoping that'll do the job!

Also I've now ordered all cards in my recent update, as well as 3xSavage Summoning for my sideboard and 1xOvergrown Tomb in place of a guildgate, should be here within the week!

Off to FNM tonight to try this deck out, also going to be my first time at a FNM so we'll see how it goes..! Will report back with how well/badly I did xD

i only say vastwood bc of the counter movement the kalonian is nice but mine seem to get controlled really hard even at 3 of its still hard to maintain them on the field atleast with vastwood u would have a hydra w/ trample (given u have ur trample creature out) and ppl would be more reluctent to doom blade it bc the counters move after death

Edeadda very true, that's why I'm considering them as a maybe :) my only worry is them being X and 2G, could be quite costly (7 mana for a 5/5) and therefore not quite fast enough.. really want to quicken my deck a lot! That and I have recently placed a rather large order for singles for this deck xD

If I were you, I would find room for another Arbor Colossus or two. A 6/6 for 5 mana on turn 3-4 is never a bad deal (unless it's all Supreme Verdict on the other side...). Also, Reverent Hunter can get insane in the late game once you have a few creatures on the board for what the cost is for him.

It's a ramp deck, not aggro. Your Experiment One s have no place here.

For all the +1/+1 counters you are dealing with why no Corpsejack Menace you do run the black mana for the Golgari Charm s and he is still standard. Also Reaper of the Wilds or Pheres-Band Centaurs (as a blocker) could be a good replacement for Kalonian Tusker because it seems its just not doing anything but being 2 loyalty and a 2 drop 3/3.

P1NG4S Corpsejack Menace has crossed my mind, but with Kalonian Hydra doing pretty much the same thing but also having counters himself, and that being the only real use for Corpsejack, plus having to put in a little more black for him, and having to play him when I'd play much bigger creatures instead.. I'm just not convinced he'd work that well. Reaper of the Wilds and Pheres-Band Centaurs are too expensive for what they do, Kalonian Tusker is a nice play turn 2 alongside another Elvish Mystic so he's kind of there if I do need a blocker, and helps out my Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx as well.

Going to play test for the first time tonight though, so I can see what might need tweaking.. I'm not sure how great my devotion will be.. Some more Arbor Colossus is tempting, and Gyre Sage for Voyaging Satyr is something I've been considering, but will just have to see how it goes!

I feel that Fade into Antiquity would be a better sideboard card than Windstorm .

me gusta. i think Giant Adephage has a place in this deck. as soon as the damage gets through, bam another giant cloning creature.

Btw, like Pack Rat , a copy of Giant Adephage counts towards devotion.

I would recommend squeezing in a playset of Burning-Tree Emissary . If you go turn one forest, Elvish Mystic , then turn 2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx , use the forest and the mystic to play two emissaries, and use the 2 mana produced to activate nykthos and add 5 green mana to your mana pool for arbor colossus, kalonian hydra and polukranos among other things.

Whata ur answer to AEtherize and cyclonic rift? At the start of theros, mono green is cool. Cyclonic rift came up and nobody wants play monogreen anymore. Personally, id rather use golgari, gruul, and or simic. How about the fog deck?.....
