The point of this little series I will be starting is once a week (Sunday) I will produce a budget deck that is able remain competitive. The deck prices will range between $50 - $75.
This deck has one thing it wants to do and it does it damn well. The main point of the deck is to beat down your opponent by turn 4-5. The deck utilizes board control cards like Banisher Priest and Brave the Elements to assist it in getting past large creatures that may pose a threat to our attacks. The deck overall is very consistent and has a good match up against most of the meta-game since no decks are geared to beating really fast aggro in the mainboard. Right now as the meta-game stands in most places I would suggest this deck over many others to take to your local FNM. If you do want to make the deck even more competitive you can make the expensive purchase of mutavaults. Good luck and happy tapping!
Creatures:
Azorius Arrester
- A great tempo creature when they drop a defender such as Caryatid.
Banisher Priest
- Gets rid of anything that can cause a threat to your unstoppable force while giving you another beating body.
Boros Elite - These one drops make for explosive damage by turn 3 and 4 allowing early kills consistently.
Cavalry Pegasus - Makes all your creatures flying to evade blockers and make for one final swing.
Daring Skyjek
- Just a great beater that can also avoid blockers
Dryad Militant - Just a great one drop to use to beat them down.
Imposing Sovereign
- Any blockers they try to drop early come in tapped and that's pretty self-explanatory.
Judge's Familiar - This card evades a lot of blockers but it also forces your opponent to play around its ability,
Loyal Pegasus
- At first glance this card isn't anything special but its a great beater.
Soldier of the Pantheon
- Probably the best one drop white creature in the deck.
Non-creature spells:
Spear of Heliod
- This card can be dropped on turn 3 or 4 and just buff your creatures to the point that your opponent is almost forced to concede.
Brave the Elements
- The bread and butter of this deck. This card will carry you in a million games.
