Sideboard

The existence of Banishing Knack / Retraction Helix has given intrepid home brewers like me a deck to try in just about every format.

This deck aims to win the game with a surprise combo. We want to cast Retraction Helix / Banishing Knack on our Zephyr Scribe or Mirran Spy , followed by flashing in a Tooth of Chiss-Goria for free. We activate Tooth of Chiss-Goria 's ability on one of our creatures and return it to our hand with Retraction Helix . Then we play the Tooth for free again, which untaps our Zephyr Scribe or Mirran Spy . Then we do the whole thing over. And over. And over. It can even be done all at instant speed! Eventually, we have a creature stacked up with enough attack to kill our opponent one hundred times over!

The rest of the deck is aimed at enabling the combo (like Prophetic Prism ) or protecting it (like Metallic Rebuke ). We have a lot of ways to dig through our deck and find our combo pieces with Preordain , Thoughtcast and Zephyr Scribe . The deck behaves somewhat like a control deck, but it's important to remember that our ONLY way to win the game is to combo off, unless you want to slap your opponent to death with Mirran Spy over 20 turns! Don't be afraid to use Retraction Helix as an Unsummon if you need to. There's 6 copies of that card in the deck, so you can find another easily.
