My second Modern deck, feedback appreciated. I've almost finished acquiring all cards for the deck, just have two Solemn Simulacrum to go.
Event History:
14/12/2013: 1-2.
Round 1: Lost 1-2 vs Affinity.
Round 2: Won 2-0 vs Soul Sisters. Repeal was very valuable. Just managed to pull out the Mindslaver lock in time in game 1, and Wurmcoil Engine won game 2. Dismember was helpful post-board.
Round 3: Lost 0-2 vs Melira Pod. I was too slow to set up in game 1, and a resolved Birthing Pod took over the game and enabled a combo kill before I could stabilize. In game 2 a Thoughtseize made a shaky hand even worse and I couldn't keep up with the beatdown strategy.
28/12/13: 2-1-1.
Round 1: Drew 1-1 vs Elves. Platinum Angel backed up by a Spell Burst eventually won a very long game 1 (my opponent had a reach creature so I had to wait for the Mindslaver lock). I got beaten down in game 2 before I could resolve my Wurmcoil Engine. I felt I was heading towards a win in game 3, but unfortunately I ran out of time.
Round 2: Won 2-0 vs UWR Splinter Twin. Mindslaver carried me to victory in both games. Game 2 was quite close as I was close to dying to a
Vendilion Clique
, which almost stole my Mindslaver with a draw step Restoration Angel, but luckily I had the Remand to prevent it.
Round 3: Lost 1-2 to UW Flicker. My counterspells were very valuable, although Repeal was a bit useless. Went for the Mindslaver lock in all 3 games. Managed it once, and was just a turn away in the other two before I died.
Round 4: Won 2-0. My opponent conceded the match and dropped from the tournament before we started.
