I don't play Tron but I really like this, the only thing I can think of adding is a Batterskull. +1

@anvildust - the main reason I don't run Batterskull is because I choose to run Treasure Mage instead of Fabricate. It's a great card in Fabricate builds though.

Also most the time running an extra Wurmcoil Engine is usually the better option

I would say run batterskull if you include gifts ungiven. It makes for nice gifts piles. Personally I dont run fabricate though the ability to search an oblivion stone would be nice

I really dig this build! Question though, how vital are the two Snapcaster Mages? And what would you replace them with?

callmecapn - I used to run 2x Dismember in the mainboard before I got the Snappys. Fabricate is viable as well.

Hey man, I love this deck! I started out with this and slowly transitioned into a version of the deck that splashes white. The problem I always had with this is that repeal did not work well enough as spot removal and cyclonic rift is so situational that you can't run it as a 2+of. Also, I didn't like the mindslaver lock as much as I thought I would.

Honestly though, I would consider playing more ugin. Ugin is baller.

Check out my UW tron list on my profile !!(:

@Gabe082795 - Thanks! I did something similar, this is the U/W version that I'm currently running: U/W Tron. I tend to go back and forth between this deck and the U/W version.

Hi

Love the deck. Just wondering if there is a substitute for Snapcaster Mage. I really don't feel like paying for its bloated value right now. What would you recommend? Was thinking something like Spellskite due to flexibility and gg factor vs some decktypes as well as an early blocker, still it's hard to argue with Snapcasters card advantage factor.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Nvm, sorry, just saw that someone else thought in same ways.

@Macc82 - I've had a lot of success with Snapcaster Mage. Once Tron lands are assembled his cost becomes arbitrary. He's really meant to be a tool to use late-game, that's why I only run 1 copy now. (I used to run 2) He's actually pretty powerful late game too. You can even bounce him with Repeal to use a card in your GY. He helps a lot with card advantage and having the right cards available in the late game. That being said, he's not integral and the deck works just fine without him. I'd probably mainboard a Dismember over him still if I didn't have a copy.

This looks super spicy, might try it. Would you suggest this deck for someone new to the format, but who loves to play control, or is it a tricky deck to get used to?

@Im_Okapi - Any time you play a control deck, it helps to be familiar with the meta. Mostly because it helps to know what options your opponent has when you're deciding what to counterspell. That being said, mono-blue tron is an excellent deck for control lovers who are new to Modern. It'll force you to learn other decks so you can play against them well and it's a deck that does well against most decks. It has very few weaknesses outside of extreme aggro decks, like burn. But you can sideboard accordingly. It's a deck that depends a lot on the players' skill. It's also a deck that can be customized to your meta very easily by having an adaptive sideboard and lots of options for the mainboard against certain deck types.

It's also a good idea to run Remand over Mana Leak. This deck is listed as the cards I have, and I just don't have any Remands yet.
