Cool deck!

I'm in process of brewing a similar deck and found some cards that would be good here:

  1. Courser of Kruphix - can help hit land drops, gain life and block.
  2. Carven Caryatid/Elvish Visionary - can help cantrip and block and basically act as more copies of Wall of Omens which is useful since the deck doesn't have Court Hussar like the U/W version.
  3. Sylvan Ranger/Yavimaya Dryad - can help get lands for emeria and cast Titan on time, basically more efficient versions of Pilgrim's Eye.
  4. Beast Within - a versatile removal spell and the deck can wall the beast easily.
  5. Primeval Titan - a big threat that can fetch lands.
  6. Nest Invader - can block and ramp to cast Titan earlier.
  7. Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip - fetches a land and can trasform rather reliably in this deck.
  8. Crystallization/Temporal Isolation - removal/pacifism spells that can be recurred by Sun Titan.

Btw, here is my deck -

G/W Emeria Titan

Just in case you were planning on coming back for the GW version, I've decided to move to mono white because I feel like it's just overall better. The mana is easier and you're not fighting yourself trying to splash spells in a mono white deck.

The manabase is indeed trickier in G/W but you get to play better spells and the overall power level of the deck is higher in my opinion.

A good creature for the Mono-W (and not only) can be Thraben Inspector which is more card draw for the deck.I would use him over the artifacts in the deck.

Lone Missionary seems better than Arashin Cleric as well.

Is Sakura-Tribe Elder legal in modern? If so, I would recommend it over Pilgrim's Eye.

@YourGod

Sakura tribe elder is modern legal, however it is very much a green card and this deck is excruciatingly mono white.

I had STEve in the green version, and I would say that it is basically the only reason to be in green at all, but the consistency of mono white far outweighs the benefit of STEve.

Oh I was looking at the pie chart that showed green; must have represented kitchen finks. :)

I actually like Sylvan Ranger over STE because he doesn't have to be sacrificed to give the land and even get in for a couple points of damage before chump-blocking.

The main reason to be in Green as far as I'm concerned is Eternal Witness though: Yavimaya Dryad, Primeval Titan and Courser of Kruphix are pretty good too imho.

It is even possible to run Summoner's Pact to get the Titan though I didn't try it.

Few to no bad matchups? I think you might be over confidant about this decks strength. :)

While that phrase is a little baity, it's far from inaccurate. Similar to jund, this deck is capable of performing the same across almost all matchups in the format. Barring Dedicated one shot combo decks like adnauseam, storm, and scapeshift given how little interaction with those the deck has, anyone who wants to play fair (Which I consider to be every other deck in the format), will not have any sort of advantage over Emeria before the game starts (as opposed to how say Tron has an advantage over jund before the game starts). I probably shouldn't advertise that it has "no bad matchups" out of context, but I'm being entirely truthful when I say that it has few bad matchups. The phrase "Few to no" is used to emphasize just how few the word "few" means.

So no, I am not being over-dark-confidant in saying that. The deck may not have any stellar matchups, like in the previous example where jund loses to tron 90% of the time or whatever, but it doesn't have many bad matchups either. It goes basically 50/50 with every deck.

I think that this deck misses some more early game options not die to faster decks and apply a little pressure on slower ones.
It also needs as much card-draw as possible to reliably draw the plains, emeria and S.Titan.

I would suggest the following changes:

+4x Thraben Inspector, +2x Lone Missionary

-1x Blasting Station, -1x Mortarpod, -1x Sunbeam Spellbomb, -1x Kitchen Finks, -1x Pilgrim's Eye, -1x Plains.

I also think that 1x more Path to Exile and 1x more Oblivion Ring would be better here over the 2x Fiend Hunter.

True enough. In your view, does infect constitute a combo deck to Emeria control?

June 24, 2016 12:16 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #12

In the eyes of emeria, no, infect is not a combo deck. Combo decks either go infinite, or deal beyond lethal in one shot outside of combat like scapeshift.

Infect is a fine matchup because barring Rancor, they don't have any sources of Trample, which means Pilgrim's Eye MVP. Board wipes hurt them, we have removal for inkmoth, and we have enough chump blockers to outlast until titan. Game one isn't the best, it's probably like 40/60 because if they draw a hand that deals 5 or more damage on turn two or three on the play, then they get there, which is why we have sideboard slots dedicated to it.

Fog effects out of the board as well as Celestial Flare help a lot.

June 24, 2016 1:29 p.m.

Captgouda24 says... #13

Okay. I think of Infect as a combo deck, trying to assemble the right combination of cards that do the same thing, to win in one giant shot.

What about Burn? Is it good or bad?

June 24, 2016 1:34 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #14

That's how some archetypes need to view infect because of how they interact with it, but because we have so many creatures that we're willing to throw away, we can't view it as a combo deck because it doesn't act like one.

Burn is laughable. depending on how ready for it you are, you're either 60% or 90% for all games. When half of the ETB abilities that you have are lifegain, burn tends to have a bad time. On top of the fact that our late game is infinitely better than theirs and Goblin Guide helps us get there, burn should be no sweat. All that you really have to do is block and hope you get a board wipe, then kick back with all the extra turns that your creatures buy you.

What about abzan company? Sort of fair, sort of combo.

June 24, 2016 1:47 p.m.

Dennis14 says... #16

I think that you don't assess the Infect matchup correctly.

The deck (usually) is rather fast and can regularly kill on turn 3 if you don't have a Path to Exile (or 2) in time so relying on 4 mana board-wipes is usually too late.
Blocking also doesn't help because they have plenty of ways to attack through blockers with:
Blighted Agent, Apostle's Blessing, Distortion Strike or Inkmoth Nexus if you don't have a flier on board.

It also obviously doesn't care about lifegain.

In my opinion it is among the tougher match-ups for this deck, they are heavily favored in game 1 and games 2,3 depend on the SB (fog effects are indeed very good against them).

June 24, 2016 2:41 p.m.

Dennis14 says... #17

About your SB:
What is Pull from Eternity for ?

Why not use the more versatile Dawn Charm over Riot Control as a fog spell ?
If you care more about preventing non-combat damage then why not Pay No Heed or Angel's Grace/Worship
(or Intervention Pact) ?

June 24, 2016 3:18 p.m.

Captgouda24 says... #18

I think pull is really spicy tech against ancestral vision, but it may not be high impact enough. Perhaps Stony Silence might work.

June 24, 2016 4:44 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #19

Pull from Eternity is in against Ancestral Vision and one-shot grave hate decks. I've done a bit of testing with it, and so far it seems worth it, but that's still really kind of up in the air. It's strictly for bringing back a titan or emeria and restarting the engine.

Riot Control stops storm and ad nauseam on top of creature combat. Angel's grace is probably better but that is very much $16 that I don't want to spend testing out what could be a worse card. If someone else wants to try it out, i'd say go for it.

In regards to Stony Silence, Suppression Field is almost strictly better in every situation.

Abzan company, It's a fine matchup, gets much better out of the board. Game one, it's kind of they either combo or they don't.

Infect, go check the matchups section, I feel like you just repeated those statistics in non-numeral form. They either get something to go around our walls or we are able to chump block them enough to buy the turns we need to win.

is this just a martyr proc deck?

October 23, 2016 1:31 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #21

bah-bammmm

Counting the number of Martyr of Sands and / or Proclamation of Rebirth, I would say no.

Emeria and Martyr proc are similar decks, and have interchangeable parts, but are not the same deck.

Eldrazi Displacer demands colorless mana. That can realistically be any white / colorless land, battlefield forge was just the cheapest one in foil.

That's why I said "Kidding aside" :P.

Also, "cheapest one in foil," nice
