To pedro.turco : Against mass removal ? I try to play around Wrath of God effects by not overcommitting and I bring in 3 copies of Ajani's Presence in game 2.

What would you guy's cut for maybe 2x Elspeth, Sun's Champion? Or would it not help the deck?

This deck is beautiful, I have no critiques i am genuinely impressed by it and have all the cards to build it i will be playing it at today's fnm to see how it fairs in practice.

To theeagleofrome Good luck ! Could you share your results and a description of what cards you liked, the matchups, how well the games went and stuff like that ? I'm interested to see how well my deck works for you ! Keep that in mind, we're breaking the meta :-D !

I am LOVING this deck. I tried making a BWU deck built on getting Silumgar, the Drifting Death out with plenty of +1/1 white cards and having lots of Negate and Dissolve and Typhoid Rats for creature and noncreature protection. I fell into the "gotta have more colors" trap you described, but I noticed that my white cards did their job when I was able to field them, so I was looking to find a win deck for just white and I found the answer! Also, love that this deck is budget, and seems to have answers to most meta threats (rabblemasters, rhinos, coursers, whip of e., etc). Will definitely build this up and test it out against those $$$$ decks today or Sunday, thanks so much!!!

thought about Soul of Theros instead of soldier of the pantheon?lifelink and firststrike are quite useful not to mention your 6/6 vigilance body
February 28, 2015 1:34 p.m.
To Shadow02 : Yea sure ! Soul of Theros isnt that expensive ($$) and he works really well with tokens. I'll add one and swap a Soldier of the Pantheon to make room. Thanks for your suggestion !

So went 3/2 with it last night. It did surprisingly well vs abzan simply because it went wide too fast for them to keep with and wing mate roc did give me some trouble but siding in glare handled it well enough. The two games I lost were the ones I was worried about the most match up wise. R/G monsters is somewhat still around in my meta and stormbreath was a nightmare the life gain of this deck actually helped fend him off for a bit though. Drown in sorrow was fine didn't cause many problems usually I'd wait for it with a dictate of heliod. Anger of the gods hit me pretty badly one game didn't expect it mainboard. The star of this deck was woe reaper shut down the whip decks like a champ. Sidisi wasn't much of an issue either. Lastly B/U controll got me with ashiok. Over all the deck faired really well and I'm tweaking it with sandsteppe outcast over horde chief and herald of anafenza over soldier of the pantheon.P.S. Writing this from phone so please excuse the grammar and lack of links.

theeagleofrome I'm looking at buying this deck and want to make sure it's perfect, what's your reasoning behind your two changes, just wanted some insight, cheers

theeagleofrome says... #14
my reasoning for the outcast is simply because in my local meta there are a large number of board wipes going around so raid tends to be harder to trigger for me simply for that reason. also other than flame wake phoenix, stormbreath, and wingmate roc there aren't a terribly large number of flyers so the spirit tends to be a little better for pushing through in the long term.
the herald is simply because it allows me to commit less of my hand to the board so i have less to lose from board wipes and because he helps greatly in a stalled out boards. these edits are largely for my local meta and because of personal preference the deck on the whole is solid without my changes.

To theeagleofrome : Nice ! It's great to see that you can pull a 3-0-2 score using my deck :-). Matchup-wise, the results aren't much of a surprise : My deck has no way to handle Stormbreath Dragon other then pulling out a very quick and brutal start. The rise in popularity of RW decks running 4x Stormbreath Dragon may be really problematic in the future... Against control, it's basically a 50-50, the matchup depends on your starting hand, draws, if you can answer a Planeswalker with Banishing Light, Ajani's Presence and such. Herald of Anafenza is another card optionnal card : While it's not a 2/1 for 1, it has a great late-game ability. I personally prefer Soldier of the Pantheon, but there's good reasons to run Herald of Anafenza instead.

If you've managed to pull some white fetches while drafting, they work wonders thinning your deck (they definitely aren't JUST for fixing). Even 2 of them would be a nice addition to streamlining a bit.

The guys in comments here are awesome at responding and you've all been great helps, I'm relatively new to my local meta having just moved across the world but I'm planning on buying this deck tomorrow albeit with a few changes, I think I'll get some additional Sandsteppe Outcasts, I was originally going to go 2 of each, and I'll get both SotP and Herald of Anafenza just to play around with whilst I learn the lay of the land. Thanks heaps guys, especially Sylex for such an amazing deck (sorry for the changes I'm making haha all credit to you). I'll see how it goes when everything arrives, PEACE

Hey, sorry for the "noob" questions but im not sure about some cards in this deck.
Do Dictate of Heliod for example buff only the minions currently on board or does the card effect all minions coming on board later?
Does Citadel Siege stays on board after casting? When it stays, it keeps Khans or Dragons right?
Soldier of the Pantheon do i get 1 life from this card when my opponent plays a multicolored creature? creatures are spells right?
can i use the effect (destroy target creature) from Spear of Heliod as an instant? Otherwise i totally dont understand that card.
Thx for helping. Im new to this game and some things are realy hard to learn for me and my friends.
By the way, i already bought the deck and its very fun!

Slick1337 you're absolutely right about all of those things, so let me explain. Dictate of Heliod is an enchantment, this means that it will stay on the battlefield until removed, the ability is that all of your creatures have +2/+2, this constantly refreshes as it's an ability on a permanent, if the card was an instant or sorcery, anything that entered after the ability had resolved will not receive the buff. Citadel Siege remains on the battlefield as it's also an enchantment, a type of permanent. The Khans or Dragon selection is fixed as you make the choice as the card resolves, which it only does once however if it was bounced back to your hand you could choose to change it the next time you play it. Soldier of the Pantheon gives you life whenever something has more than one mana colour in its cost. Every card is a spell unless it's a land and a card is multi coloured if it requires 2 colours OR if there's a symbol such as the half green half white one. Finally, Spear of Heliod. Yes you can use this ability at any time as it is an ability and not a spell, abilities can be cast at instant speed unless specifically stated otherwise such as in outlast cards. I hope you've got all the answers you need there :)

Awesome deck!! I actually purchase almost all of the cards from tcg under for about 20$ I am brave enough to run this at FNM ill tell you guys all the details afterwards. Really like your input there theeagleofrome helped me out a lot, at my local magic store I will be going a lot against mass removals. I do feel like I would run out of steam fast with this deck I don't want to go into a top decking situation but I dint get to play test it yet I can't really say. BTW Duel Decks: Elspeth vs. Kiora just came out this is the perfect time to get Elspeth, Sun's Champion her price should be dropping soon, she would be a great addition to this deck. Really enjoyed reading the comment section you guys are doing a great job of contributing hope I could help.
March 1, 2015 8:20 a.m.
@dvdboy911: Why? Elspeth's a 6-drop so you're probably going to be ending the game by the time you can use her abilities, unless you can ramp her out or you're running control. And there are much better 6-drops for end-game situations. (and her -3 would wipe out your own creatures if you have Dictate of Heliod out)
I bought the Elspeth vs Kiora duel decks but I'm not even running Elspeth in my token deck. She's not good in fast token decks. I'm still annoyed at Wizards for even putting her in yet another creature-based deck, rather than control; where she belongs -.-
Anyway, this deck looks awesome. +1

Love this deck and read through all the comments. I think it is really awesome seeing people work together and be constructive with one another rather than just being negative. Definitely +1 for this deck.
So I am new to magic and my friend just got me into it. I decided to run a mono white deck as well. Honestly I am not sure to the viability of it because I have no clue (trying to learn) the meta of Magic. It played well against both a mono-green and red aggro standard decks, but thats all I have played against so far. I really like how well thought out everything is in this deck. I would love if you guys could help me trim or edit my deck (or just tell me it won't work in the meta). Note: I am completely new to this so take that in mind when looking at my deck. Thanks :)
Once again great job on your deck love it and thanks for also taking the time to help explain everything to everyone, helps a lot.

+1Hi!I am new to magic and as a result of that I am very bad at swapping out cards from the main deck to the sideboard. Can u please make some examples what u switch in and out vs different matchups
March 2, 2015 1:32 a.m.
How would you feel about an Archetype of Courage in the sideboard? I think it would give a huge edge against anything similar to your own deck.
March 2, 2015 4:55 p.m.
To dvdboy911 : Thanks ! I'd like you to post your FNM results, like theeagleofrome did, with the matchups, how the games went and stuff. To Jazzyboy : I don't like the way you replied to dvdboy911, because you conveyed a lot of false information to him and everyone else who read your post. You can have your own opinion, but I sincerely think you're wrong. I would like you to hear my thoughts on Elspeth, Sun's Champion and then you'll be free to reconsider your opinion or just defend your point. First, keep in mind that my decks on Tappedout are meant to be templates, and that I'm favorable towards making my decklists customizable, depending personnal needs and preferences, it's like adding your own touch and what makes players happy makes me happy.Ok, ask yourself that question : Why is Elspeth, Sun's Champion used mostly used in control decks ? Is it because she's really powerful ? Or should I say, is itbecause she can sweep out a unfavorable board state and then start protecting herself by creating a considerable board presence turn after turn ? Yea, probably. The only drawback she has is her high mana cost of 6 and casting her on turn 6-7 isn't even close from being a issue in my 25 land (Yes, 25 lands, you heard it right) deck, despite the fact I'm not running a ramp or control deck ! 6 mana casting cost doesn't automatically means control. Winning before turn 6 with my deck, altough it's not impossible, is unlikely in this format full of Lightning Strike and Bile Blight, so having extra lategame power is really useful, more then you could think. I'm beginning to wonder if you know what you're talking about. What cards do you have in mind when you say there's much better 6 drops ? May I get a example ? May I get a suggestion ? I'll try to guess what card you're it is : Soul of Theros and Triplicate Spirits Thoses 2 cards are already in my deck. Evangel of Heliod ? I tried her and she sucks. Aegis Angel ? Nope. Plea for Guidance ? Channel Harm ? Constricting Sliver ??? I have no clue. Hearing things such as, Ahem, saying that Elspeth, Sun's Champion -3 ability would wipe out your own creatures if you had Dictate of Heliod out makes me highly doubt about your practical sense : Dude ! Why the f(..) would you even do that ! You're creating 9 FRICKIN POWER/TOUGHNESS on 3 bodies each turn ! Isn't that already good enough !! I'm Sorry, I got carried away XD. But seriously, please verify your sources before saying things like that ! I really don't want you or anybody to look dumb when you're just trying to take part of a debate and express your opinion... Remember what I'm about to say : There's no right or wrong when it comes to expressing your opinion on a card. Whoevers wants to play Elspeth, Sun's Champion in his token/midrange/whatever deck can and should if it makes the game more fun for him ! That's one of the reasons why I, as a ''Johnny'' player enjoy brewing and playing so much : I'm being unique, I'm breaking the mold I'm free to prove wrong whatever preconceived stereotypes there is (such as saying Elspeth can only be played in control decks).

To Crazedsteno88 : Dragonscale General isn't bad, but her body is weak for a 4 mana creature. This card definitely has some potential when paired with a lot of small creatures, but Citadel Siege does everything she does in a even better way, by giving you options and a unconditional, ''un-Lightning Strikeable'' board presence. Still, thanks for your suggestions :-)To Tempic : I'm not interested in putting Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to my mana base for a few reasons.First of all, while it is true that I run some cards with in their mana cost and that I could potentially produce a lot of mana, what would that mana even be used for ? My mana curve ends at 5 and I already run 25 lands for consistency. Plus, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a bit expensive and it's a colorless legendary land.... I dont wanna be stuck with a hand full of colorless land and no early play. I want to drop a Plains turn one, play a 1 drop, another land turn 2, play a 2 drop , turn 3, 3 drop... Why would I even want to activate Nykthos ? It could be good in some rare situations, but it's not worth compromising the consistency nor the budget tag of my deck just to run it.To meemoe8 : Having a 2/1 body for 1 mana on turn one in this format full of enter-the-battlefield-tapped multicolored lands is really good. Soldier of the Pantheon can swing in for at least 2 or 4 damage over the course of a game, while being able to block and/or trade with a Goblin Rabblemaster. It's protection from multicolor and lifegain abilities aren't that impressive, but it's still nice to get some free value for such a low mana investment against certain decks. I dont run 4 of theses because I already have 4 Mardu Woe-Reaper, which also has a 2/1 body for 1 mana and is able to exile creatures cards from graveyards while giving you a decent amount of life back against midrange/aggro strategies.
