Standard milling deck that focuses on having a controlled boardstate and milling in the downtime as a win condition.
Staying alive:
Fog Bank is an excellent stalling and survival tool at turn 2 or any other time. Enough said.
Mana Leak is a phenomenal early-mid game counter where it's limitation rarely affects it. My favorite counterspell.
Deprive is fantastic for late game counters, since its only limitation for the two mana cost is one land tempo. Combos with Hedron Crab to boot.
Into the Roil is great for general control and adds some peace of mind when tapping out for Jace, Memory Adept on turn 5. Even more utility with card draws later game or when playing at the end of your opponent's end of turn.
Serum Visions is essentially my last four lands, but with more flexibility and late game prowess.
Ludevic's Test Subject
draws serious aggro and removal attempts with the added utility of a mana dump if I didn't counter. Bonus utility of striking fear into the hearts of my enemies.
Milling:
Jace, Memory Adept. 10 mill a turn and draws aggro. Enough said.
Mind Sculpt
is a bit less mill per mana than Tome Scour, but has the same card cost, and ultimately has more snapcasting utility. It's not like I was going to mill them turn one, anyways.
Both:
Hedron Crab is a possible defender but has the most utility when milling with landfall.
Snapcaster Mage can make a quick defender but also allows the recasting of
Mind Sculpt
, Serum Visions, or any control card.
Deprive gets a nod for synergizing with Hedron Crab for a little mill with your control.
Sideboard:
Archive Trap is a fantastic mill card, but I would only use it second game after I'm sure my opponent has fetch lands.
