Sideboard

Deck I’ve been having amazing results with online. I wanted to play Pioneer on a budget. Being a fan of mono blue tempo in Standard. I ported it to Pioneer since I had the cards. I was surprised that it had a decent game in Pioneer. It was mainly lacking a solid clock. I ended up replacing all the creatures with Spirits. Now I have a clock that’s capable of a turn 4 win while keeping the tempo aspect.

Key Cards/Play:

  1. Unsubstantiate. This card has so much play. Combined with Unsummon, I can pretty regularly dominate the creature board in much of the turns. while my Spirits grow and lay down a healthy clock. If you add In it can slow down Supreme verdict a turn 4-5 game win is very possible vs UW control if the conditions are right. Did I mention this card is also a counterspell?

  2. Unsummon/Essence Capture. Nothing like playing a turn 1 spirit. And setting up the perfect Essence Capture on turn two-three against a Llanowar Elf deck attempting to cast that Bomb. Either bounce the elf or bounce the big play. You essentially delayed their game plan back multiple turns.

  3. Curious Obsession. Unlike the recent standard Tempo decks. You’re not dependent on Curious Obsession god Draws. But you will always be happy to find one.

Sideboard:

  1. Damping Sphere- bring in vs Devotion, Phoenix and Lotus decks

  2. Aethersphere Harvester- Pretty much any Aggro deck.

  3. Treasure Cruise- Good vs Chonky Red, GB midrange decks and Draw/go style decks.

  4. Counter Package- Because Blue

  5. Sleep- Never Sleep On This Sleeper.
