Moonage Daydream

an exercise in hand size management

This Moon Kami daydreams of big draws and big attacks, but is quite slow at getting there. Moonage Daydream is a greedy draw deck, and you will probably have to ask for mercy to stay alive long enough to enjoy the goal of huge hand sizes and crippling choices. It might just be worth it.

This is a draw cards / hand size matters deck, and the wincon is beatdown with large creatures. It is a continuation of Any Color You Like which unfortunately was too janky for my playgroup (Playing budget with a sub optimal commander is not easy).

For the time being, my gameplan with this deck is to play in stages:

  1. Ramp stage - you should probably also play the commander in this stage;

  2. Mid game defense stage - get some blockers or some pillow fort pieces on the table;

  3. Draw engine stage - get some draw engine cards on the table, balance the level of greed;

  4. Beater stage - play the big dudes;

  5. Endgame stage - either bounce the board and try to hit for lethal, or save your mana and wait. Remember to keep counterspell mana open!

The budet is ~100$ total, max 5$ per card (with exceptions). I use Cardkingdom prices
