If you're going mono-blue artifacts, why use Jace as commander? Sure he's something that needs to be dealt with, but take a look at Muzzio, Visionary Architect. He synergizes so well with your deck it's hard for me to justify not using him!

Oh, by the way, Artisan of Kozilek can't return Blightsteel Colossus as the latter shuffles back into your library as soon as it hits the graveyard.

@ArantirTheDestroyer I've actually never seen Muzzio, Visionary Architect before hahahaha, I was thinking of Arcum Dagsson but he might be alot funner.

And yes you're totally right. I'll have to fix that descriptor.

Just finished reading the desc. Whats sort of wowzers is you're talking about 'Once the deck is set up in the late game....here's looking at you topdeck Gaze of Granite.' Perspective people. I topdecked gaze of granite vs this guy on turn 6. turn 6. He's talking about being setup for the late game on turn 6. Scary. : )

You should run the Urza lands instead of the Cloudpost/Glimmerpost lands. The most you can do with those in commander is get 2 mana from Cloudpost.

Caligula says... #9

@TheHelvault when you add in Thespian's Stage and Vesuva it'd hit 4 mana each. Plus Clone-ing a Glimmerpost with Thespian's Stage mean's I can use it as a Cloudpost for the mana or change it to Glimmerpost for life any time I need.

The reason Arcum Dagsson is good because of the infamous Darksteel Forge + Nevinyrral's Disk combo. Which you can activate every turn. Put in a Mycosynth Lattice and everyone's in for a world of hurt. Except you.

Without a lot of artifact creatures Muzzio is definitely better, but you should probably still run both (you are running Master Transmuter after all).

@Lanzo493 I totally agree, but my issue is surviving mid-game, I can just Foresee myself casting Arcum Dagsson in a multiplayer round and getting waxed before I even get my next turn.

also, I think i'd need to run more artifact critters to better abuse Arcum

Ah that makes sense. Ever think about running Prototype Portal? Mindslaver + Prototype Portal + 10 mana on any one of your turns (which should be easy the way you described with your locus lands), you got yourself an infinite loop of you taking your opponent's turns, as well as taking your own. That doesn't work as well for multiplayer, but for example, in a 3 player game, you can use another person's deck (preferably someone who's a threat currently) to help take down the other person's deck, then lock yourself in that infinite loop.

Also, you have so much card draw in here, I'm surprised to not see Sphinx's Tutelage in here.

January 25, 2016 4:57 p.m.

Caligula says... #14

@TheHelvault I had Prototype Portal in here just because it can do so much, but I found when drawing into it I never wanted to sac an artifact in my hand just to copy it later in the game, just more effective to cast the 1 I need than to sac it to the portal for later use.

And I have a version of the Mindslaver lock in here using Academy Ruins, works the same and cheaper. Just need 12 colorless to combo out.

EDIT: Also, Sphinx's Tutelage was in the earlier version, Still debating if I want to run it.

Well the 'Tute works great with Teferi's Puzzle Box, and you have plenty other draw effects in here. It might be a good idea.

TheHelvault

Hahaha, The 'tute. I like that.

It's just getting to the point now where it's getting hard to cut cards. If I do cut any it'll probably something from OGW since i'm still testing out some of the Minor Eldrazi + Kozi.

January 25, 2016 5:10 p.m.

TheHelvault says... #17

Don't cut Cozy! You've got an excellent curve to abuse his counterspell ability. If you cut something from Oath, I would be cutting the Thought-Knot Seer, unless you're bouncing him really often.

Also, looks like Tamiyo, the Moon Sage (only my favorite planeswalker) would be good in here :D

January 25, 2016 5:15 p.m.

Caligula says... #18

Yeah, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage is under heavy consideration, Walkers work amazing in this deck in the limited games i've played with it anytime a walker sticks it's always helped the deck out substantially.

And I see what you mean about the new Kozi, The Seer would be first cut (Even though I just traded for a foil...) but we'll see how it goes.

The foil one will keep its value for a while XD

hey i really like it but why no love for Memnarch? hes like the evil mastermind of blue artifact control/combo

January 26, 2016 5:31 a.m.

Caligula says... #22

@PepsiAddicted I had the thought about her, but i figure she just draws so much heat. A buddy pointed out to me though you don't activate her until your infinite which made sense..

I think Muzzio, Visionary Architect could do for me

January 26, 2016 3:56 p.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #23

oh yeah good thinking. muzzio is great

January 26, 2016 4:10 p.m.

Have you considered a time based build? You don't need as much ramp if you have plenty of extra turns. Also, if you do need a form of ramp in blue, try Teferi, Temporal Archmage as your commander. His untap ability becomes a source of ample mana with Grim Monolith, Mana Vault, or any other mana source.

January 27, 2016 10:25 a.m.

Caligula says... #25

@snowmaster55555atgmaildotcomA time build to be done right requires alot of cutting in the deck and alot more and I'm trying to steer away from that, I like the counter ability/tricks it can do, but I don't want to tailor the deck to Time Walking my way to a win.

Since is more of a splash in the deck anyways.

I have definitely considered Teferi, Temporal Archmage as a commander though and ended up settling for jace, being a 2 drop and with the decks little to do early game it seemed a proper fit. Although I think Muzzio, Visionary Architect could take top spot
