Mostly White Control

Standard*

tawclaw

Sideboard

This is my first attempt at a control deck. I've never played control but was inspired by the new cards Deicide and Banishing Light. I was originally going to try to make it mono-white but decided that would be too limiting.

The deck centers around enchantments that exile;

Banishing Light Chained to the Rocks Detention Sphere

These three four-ofs really pull me through the game, and make it sensible to run a Sphere of Safety.

I then have two Anger of the Gods in the Sorcery category, following the theme of exiling permanents. It's very useful against weenie decks (which I will be expecting more of now due to Athreos, God of Passage ) and can kill pesky instances of the card Sylvan Caryatid.

I also include four Supreme Verdict of course, because it is just such a powerful board wipe.

I run two Deicide as a lot of enchantments are floating around these days, especially gods. I'm not sure how useful this will be right now, but I'll play it some at FNM once I build this deck and see. I'm also putting in three Dissolve for hard counter and scry, but also to protect my win-cons.

I've got three each of Divination and Sphinx's Revelation for card draw.

Finally, my win-cons are any of Elspeth, Sun's Champion, AEtherling, or Assemble the Legion. I like all three of these and at least one of them should be favorable in most matchups.

So let me know what you guys think. Again, this is my first ever control deck so I'm just getting into that mindset. I could use some advice on a sideboard. Thanks!
