My take on a Elemental/Land destroyer deck that I would like input on. A big problem I run into a lot is removal and counters targeting Incandescent Soulstoke .

This deck features some of my favorite elementals! Liege of the Tangle , Tyrant of Discord ,and Supreme Exemplar !

The deck runs very smooth thanks to the synergy between Flamekin Harbinger , Smokebraider , and Incandescent Soulstoke and allows you to destroy enemy lands very quickly thanks to Boom/Bust + Darksteel Citadel and Incandescent Soulstokes' tap ability.

Opening Hand and Turns

Optimal hand would be two lands (Mountain Darksteel Citadel, or Double Mountain), Flamekin Harbinger , Smokebraider , Incandescent Soulstoke , Seismic Spike and, Mulldrifter.

Turn one:

Play Mountain and Flamekin Harbinger Searching for this elemental is a pivotal movement to secure victory. I usually go for Supreme Exemplar , but not every opponent runs the same deck

Turn two:

Draw Supreme Exemplar , and play Mountain or Darksteel Citadel and Smokebraider . Hold onto that Flamekin Harbinger on the field.

Turn Three:

In turn three, we have no control over the draw, but hopefully we can draw lands for the next two turns, or either another Smokebraider or an Assault Strobe.

Depending on the draw, we might not be able to play a land, but we can still cast Incandescent Soulstoke thanks to our Smokebraider that was summoned on turn two.

Turn Four:

Here, if we have drawn two consecutive lands, we can have an interesting play with our four lands, the Seismic Spike in our hand, and our Incandescent Soulstoke + Supreme Exemplar . We can destroy a land, gain two red mana, and deal some serious damage with Supreme Exemplar by summoning it through Incandescent Soulstoke so that it has haste, and dies at the end of turn. Hopefully, our little Flamekin Harbinger survived till this turn, and we can champion him. By doing this we guarantee that our next turn has another large elemental to deal the decisive blow to a crippled enemy.

Auxiliary Combos for the late( or delayed) game:

Mulldrifter

Should the game drag on, we have some nice things to keep our beastly elementals coming. For example, Mulldrifter is a great way to draw cards and block enemy attacks. Note that Mulldrifter is blue, but this should not be a serious problem for it because we have Smokebraider and Incandescent Soulstoke to work around its blue mana costs (This is also true for Supreme Exemplar , and Liege of the Tangle ). Mulldrifter also synergizes well with Incandescent Soulstoke + Supreme Exemplar because we can champion our Mulldrifter, deal damage or block, and at the end of the turn, draw an additional two cards when our champion dies.

Faultgrinder

This card, despite its high cost, is simply amazing when used with Incandescent Soulstoke . This is a land destroy (typically 4 mana drop) for two mana that can then punch your opponent in the face with its 5/5 trample, haste thanks to Incandescent Soulstoke , Whats not to like?

Boom/Bust

This card is in here because we rarely obtain the optimal hand. This is our delay tactic when we need to buy time in the early game, and our board wipe in the late game. The bust card, allows us to wipe out all lands on the field except our Darksteel Citadels, by the time we have enough mana to cast Bust, we would hopefully have at least one Smokebraider which allows us to rebuild faster than the opponent.

Tyrant of Discord

This card is downright amazing if you believe in RNGesus and he believes in you (and this deck). Remember Boom/Bust ? There is nothing more satisfying than unleashing a Tyrant of Discord after a Boom/Bust using Incandescent Soulstoke + Smokebraider to wipe not only all the lands, but all your opponents field into oblivion. As if adding insult to injury wasn't enough, he would descend as an 8/8 with haste and sit on your opponents face and vanish into the sunset as your turn ends.

Liege of the Tangle

When I first came up with the idea for this deck, this guy was my muse. He can make your lands into 8/8 elementals. Whats really cool about this is that if we have Darksteel Citadel we have 8/8s that cant be destroyed by board wipes. The downside to this is that if you make your Mountains into elementals, you could lose a lot of mana to board wipes ( So choose sparingly!)

Assault Strobe

This card makes for hilarious plays with any large elemental, but it works especially well with Supreme Exemplar on turn four ;)
