Casual Karlov Soul Sisters
I challenged myself to make this without any unconditional tutors, so that's why you don't see any. This list is intentionally only powered around 60%, so if there are things I'm missing - please suggest them, but I might be omitting them on purpose. Ranger of Eos is sweet, imo, since he's got my Soul Sisters on speed dial. Stoneforge Mystic and Enlightened Tutor sneak in because they're both a sexy toolbox with an attitude and I just can't say no to a pretty face.
The overall plan and drive of the deck is to grind out incremental value with small etb and ltb creatures, recursion, and sacrifice outlets, all the while trying to stick a Soul Warden or Blood Artist effect on the field so we can keep the cash flow running into Papa Karlov. With 4 Warden effects and 3 Artist effects it shouldn't be too difficult, especially since you can recur them with the same engines you're using to grind out value. The best part is, while your minions are busy hopping between life and death, our good council member is taking the time to control the board, processing value into the sweet caress of unmaking.
Papa Karlov gets antsy sometimes, so there's also a few beatsticks for him to get feisty with. Obviously Umezawa's Jitte is busted, but with Karlov the first and third modes read exactly the same, so it's even better. If I could run a deck with Karlov, Jitte, and 98 lands with Jitte-cycling, I would. It's that sexy. Warhammer and Sword also play a part in grinding out the game, both with lifegain to trigger the fat ghost and a little extra spice to keep things going.
I should also mention that I have a paralytic hatred for cards that cost more than 6 mana and don't just win the game. Tooth and Nail rocks. An unanswered Storm Herd just kills people. Repay in Kind is sweet in the right deck. Celestial Force is a steaming shitpile waste of my time. Please don't suggest cards that cost as much as win conditions but at best are only a hiccup in the course of a game. I'm not paying 7+ mana for "value." I can get value for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 mana and it comes down faster. Sun Titan is better than every single trashy 7-drop I've run into in white. Unless the card reads, basically, "win target game", I'm not paying 7-9 mana for it. Take your battlecruiser and go home.
Life is short for the living, but the council is eternal. Papa Karlov is here to stay, and he's hungry.
