This is a deck I piloted in a Modern tournament ages and ages ago. It was incosistent occasionally but when things lined up just right, boy did that make for some fun matches.
The thing about this deck that I like the most is that it opened me up to the idea of combo. I wouldn't consider myself a combo player and this strategy is shaky at best, but before playing this deck I used to think that combo was the least fun way to play Magic. I don't necessarily disagree with that because of the lack of interactivity, but I definitely have more respect for those who like to see the crazy stuff happen.
For those unfamiliar with this kind of deck, the premise is simple: Get Blistercoil Weird onto the field, equip him with Paradise Mantle and then use him for mana to cast as many of your one-mana cantrips as you can. Draw, draw, draw as he gets bigger and bigger and bigger, then you can either swing for 20 (not the preferable method in a format in which Path to Exile exists), or preferably, Grapeshot once you're well over 20 spells cast in the turn. Since a counterspell can only counter one copy of the Grapeshot, it's a far more effective win condition. As you can see, the deck only has 10 land. It doesn't usually need more than two to make the entire engine run, so if you have a one-land hand, you're usually good to go as long at least one of the other pieces is in hand.
This is not my innovation, but I had a great time playing it.
