Some simple aggro and burn. A lot of one drops, some burn to clear up their field and hopefully I'll be able to slap down a
Claws of Valakut
on a
Spikeshot Elder
and deal some direct damage.
Here's the Basic Deck Tech:
LANDS:
Mountain- Basic- For all your Mountainy purposes
CREATURES:
Mr. Pokeylope himself- (
Spikeshot Elder
)- The main theme for the deck. You're looking to boost him up as much as you can and swing in for kills, use the ability to poke creatures or upstairs for some damage, or a juicy combination of the two.
Nyxborn Rollicker
- This lil guy serves as quite the utility. He buffs Pokeylope, serves a a little creature to chump or swing, and with his bestow that means if Pokelope ever gets the D from Doom Blade then we're not left dead in the water.
Young Pyromancer- Quite the utility too. While he doesn't directly help Pokeylope, he earns his stay by pooping out some token swarmers/chumpers and can sometimes distract people away from our lord and savior Mr. Pokelope.
Vexing Devil- 1cmc for a 4/3 creature or target opponent looses 1/5 of their starting life? Yes please!
INSTANTS:
Lighting Bolt- A must have in the deck, hurts opponents creatures, upstairs for three, sets off Young Pyromancer and for 1 mana and at instant speed.
Burst Lightning
- It's like Shock, but if I have extra mana it's better. I would only ever end up using the kicker if I don't have a 4pwr+ pokeylope but there are those times. Also sets off YP.
Shock- About as close I can get to some more Lightning Bolt. Does damage, sets off YP, blah blah blah
Fling- Cant attack with your beefed creature for the kill? Only have two untapped lands and you're in a pinch? Not a problemo! Fling the Pokeylope, deal the damage, set off YP, and everything will be alright!
Searing Blood
-with this instant I can deal damage to a creature, and upstairs to the face! Woo! (also YP is still getting his climax)
ENCHANTMENTS;
Claws of Valakut
- Another all star of the deck, slap it on Pokeylope to give your opponents something to cry about.
Dragon Mantle
- Firebreathing to pump up Pokeylope, card advantage/fuel for the deck and for one mana. Sure thing boss.
