I've been playing MTG Arena for a few weeks now and out of all the pre-constructed decks, this is by far the most fun one there. Out of the lot, even without my acquireboard, this has got me winning streaks without using Counterspells or Control.
The synergy is just to survive with an unblockable creature and just let them draw each time like Curious Obsession + Mist-Cloaked Herald
. Then if it dies, just replace it with a new one. Since these cards are so cheap (and cheap to build), they're not a loss for you since you can draw new ones and just cast new ones when they die. Try not to cast multiple unblockables at the same time because they can be nuked easily.
FAKE THREATS and MISDIRECTION
You need to be able to study how your opponent plays and just keep giving them fake threats like let your Shaper Apprentice, Jadelight Ranger, Jade Bearer, even your fucking Mistfolk Mistbinder get countered. They are fake threats.
REAL THREATS
The real threats are shit cards like Mist-Cloaked Herald, River Sneak, Curious Obsession, Sixth Sense. Fucken hilarious.
You can deal with control decks by baiting them with cheap ass spells but make sure you save ones where you can draw. The important play here is you draw new cards every turn. As long as they're using more mana to counter your spells, it's already an advantage for you. If they counter, Mist-Cloaked Herald or Curious Obsession or Sixth Sense or whatever, good luck with counter spells because there's like 3-4x more of them coming.
BUILDING DECK
I try to avoid multiple enchantments in the deck with big CMC like Path to Discovery (which I have 4 in my collection pre-wipe) but I think I can run this with an additional Hadana's Climb
because it's just too OP for an unblockable deck.
END GAME
End-game cards are Tempest Caller and or River's Rebuke before you swing with a transformed Hadana's Climb
.
ANSWERS
Token Decks: Tempest Caller or River's Rebuke
Pirate Decks: Shapers' Sanctuary
Dimir Decks: Shapers' Sanctuary
Dinosaur Decks: I don't know lol. I haven't any answers for this deck yet except luck that they dont ramp. I usually deal with threats using Crashing Tide but I have no answer for the Needletooth Raptor + Raging Regisaur
combo also Forerunner of the Empire really shits on my 1/1 Merfolk shitters.
Vampire / Lifelink Decks: Hadana's Climb
, Tempest Caller, River's Rebuke
Mirror / Merfolk: All the +1/+1 counters / Unblockables, etc. Nobody's expecting to win with a draw deck. They think your end game is a Mistfolk Mistbinder + Deeproot Waters Combo. Well, I think that's shit.
ACQUIREBOARD
I can let go of 1x Tempest Caller for a 1x Hadana's Climb
as it's such a big threat. I can also let go of 2x Kumena's Speaker for 1x Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca and 1 more Shapers' Sanctuary. I can also let go of 1x Shaper Apprentice for 1x more Deeproot Elite I think this card is pretty synergistic especially in making fake threats.
Sideboard is Acquireboard since Arena doesnt have use for sideboarding yet.
The tapped-out land/spell chart is a little broken. After adjusting to fit the charts, I didn't get better ramps but I managed to win 2 games in a row with only 2 lands, Forest / Island. I think I'm shifting back to what it was before.
