Sideboard

A budget-friendly goblins deck for Historic. Haven't tested this version yet, since I'm missing a few wildcards to finish it, but a version with only three Goblin Matron, two Gempalm Incinerators, two Trashmasters, two ringleaders, and no castles has worked out for me pretty great in Historic events. I filled out the missing cards with Firebrands, Lightning Strikes, and a Volley Veteran. I think Commander can be replaced by two Embercleaves, but you can't find those with Ringleader or Matron, so I'm not so sure. I haven't tested that yet. Trashmaster sucks, but it's the only lord we got on historic, so it will have to do for now.

I mostly play BO1, and am also missing Ruinblaster and Ratchet Bomb from the sideboard. However, the idea is pretty simple: you side out the incinerators for the Ratchet Bomb against tokens decks; Frenzy goes in when you need to have some extra reach in the mid to late game, probably replacing one Matron and one Ringleader, or the two Commanders; Ruinblaster is there to hate on Field of the Dead, Search for Azcanta, Adanto, etc.; finally, the firebrands come in against decks with problematic one-toughness creatures, such as Elves or lifegain.

Edit: I have tweaked the deck a bit. Playing with the list it turns out I really missed the lightning strikes, so they went back in. The rest is pretty much the same as before.

Updates Add

So obviously this deck got a huge upgrade with the release of M21 and Jumpstart. I'm still in the process of crafting all the new cards, but I've made a preliminary list that I've tested a bit on the Historic All Access event, and it seems pretty solid. The main additions are Goblin Chieftain, Goblin Arsonist, Conspicuous Snoop, Krenko, Mob Boss, and Muxus, Goblin Grandee. The lightning strikes and Heraldlic Banners are gone, as are the Goblin Trashmaster. This last one I plan to relegate to the sideboard, due to the ability to sac gobbos to destroy artifacts. Also added two Goblin Chainwhirler instead of the Legion Warboss, to improve the match-up against Lukka token decks. I've also seen some people run Willy Goblin to help them ramp. I don't know if it's necessary, since Skirk Prospector already does a great job of ramping, but its another card to keep in mind.

Honestly, this deck is a beast in BO1. The sideboard hasn't been updated yet, but I'll get to that eventually.
