Sift through the deck. Use silent arbiter, Maze of Ith, Cryptic Command, Venser, Shackles and the disc for board control. Counters effectually stall the game for land drops and Ancestral Visions' time counters. Once Guile is out, remands become hard counters and all counter magic acquires commandeer properties. Along with the arbiter, Guile is unblockable, and with Maze of Ith op. cannot attack. That is the lock. Pacts are either for protecting Guile or shackles, depending on the situation, and are excellent fodder for Forbid and Compulsion in the early game (only to be reclaimed later with Elixir).
