I can see you have some Burrenton Forge-Tender in sidebaord...
I didn't even remember this card, it looks amazing as as sideboard card against pyroclasm and other mass red removal.

Yes, Burrenton Forge-Tender is an awesome piece of tech. It's main purpose is to stop Pyroclasm and Anger of the Gods as you pointed out, but it's also able to help against the burn match up, as well as stop Ad nauseum's win con. It's been super helpful.

some suggestions i have for your sideboard are Rest in Peace its a 2 drop that stops Tarmogoyf and reanimator/zombie/delve and any deck that effects the graveyard, Suppression Field 2 drop very helpfull stops tap and paying abilities and most importantly Path to Exile gets rid of any creature u dont have to wait for 3 artifacts love the deck though

I'm guessing Tempered Steel is far too slow? Could be nice to have as a 1 or 2 of, for stronger dudes.

I'm currently brewing a mono blue version of this deck, actually, using Trinket Mage , Ensoul Artifact , Fabricate , and Thoughtcast along with the artifact cast. It also gives access to Academy Ruins , which is cool.
As for Boros Elite , It's fine, but it has zero synergy with the artifact package, so in terms of flavor, that's a no-go. Ardent Recruit isn't the best card in the deck, and I really don't think that adding in another 1-4 copies of it are worth it.
In terms of backup plans for boardwipes, I'm still working on that for the SB. Rootborn Defenses is one of the only real inclusions that I've considered as of yet, but I'm still doing some research.
