Dispel is a nice easy one to use with Mizzium Skin . Most removals are instant speed, for those that aren't Mizzium Skin can usually handle it. Dispel works wonders on control decks

Also Psychic Spiral won't do wonders in your deck. By the time you have enough cards to hurt them in your graveyard, they'd be winning usually. Or you'd be winning. Hard to justify the card when you lack draw cards and you yourself aren't control.
December 13, 2013 3:56 a.m.
Very, as in the sideboard it can be changed to vs almost any deck.

Because im looking for a competitive deck to play on the mtgo mocs tomorrow
December 13, 2013 4:11 p.m.
If you can build this test it your self in a few IRL Playtests, it wins turns 4-7 sideboard in for Dragon Mantle for most decks, In smelts case remove 3x dragon mantle 1x Magma jet @Petro_std

T8 it's against god weapons, gods won't be out soon enough most cases to deal any harm.
December 15, 2013 11:28 a.m.
True, That is a great and very cheap way to get rid of a weapon
December 16, 2013 2:49 a.m.
and a cheap activator for Nivix Cyclops tell your friends T8 I would like them to see this deck

You know, the only way Nivix Cyclops ever wins games for me is when he really packs a whallop. Aqueous Form will let him get through, sure, but it doesn't activate him or do anything else. Teleportal however, will give the ol cyclops a power boost of 4.
I also think Dragon Mantle is a good card, but really doesn't fit the theme. It could be cut for more instants. I recommend Lightning Strike , but that's because I run Goblin Electromancer too, which basically turns it into Lightning Bolt . Do what you want, but enchantments in a deck built around cast triggers seems wonky to me.
December 16, 2013 1:07 p.m.
I Completely agree with Grimgrinner. Ditch the enchantments. Add at least +2 Mizzium Skin . It is Perfect for the Nivix Cyclops because a lot of times players will wait until the trigger on your turn before casting removal.
I run a Mid-Range Izzet/Control with the Nivix Cyclops AND the Fluxcharger . I just 'fixed'' it by -4 Frostburn Weird . It was so hard to take this card out, but adding +4 Blistercoil Weird adds another trigger for all the spells.
December 16, 2013 1:25 p.m.
Grimgrinner I agree on it adds a +4 but it will be hard to make SURE I have RU for the spell and still cast all my spells. It's just too specific some games I may rarely find a Blue Mana. But, I understand where you are coming from. i'd rather lose one more and add Seismic Stomp instead.
@rjphilla it's in the sideboard incase I do face removals.

You should have more blue land if you don't seem to have enough to counter....expect the removal.
December 16, 2013 7:10 p.m.
It's not that, this system is weird, as in the Tappedout Playtesting, it's based on the percentages in Draw hand instead of how you shuffle. I will fix mana whenever I make it.@unholycookies

Your mana base is fine. My similar deck has 21 lands and its fine. granted, I use Steam Vents over Izzet Guildgate , but I had a gift card, lol.
December 16, 2013 8:25 p.m.
I will get Steam Vents s around my birthday, then i'll be good.

You only have 2 removal spells, which are Magma Jet s, and they don't kill very much. Mizzium Mortars and Cyclonic Rift are cards you really should look into.
December 21, 2013 9:19 p.m.
@corythackston I don't need much removal due to it being unblockable, I just need to be able to counter destroys, which I am good on, Magma Jet s are for when they have one of my cons listed

The idea with removal is that magic doesn't always work out the way you draw it up, and it would be nice to be able to kill someones Stormbreath Dragon rather than hope you can outrace it, because it doesn't lose very many races.

I've built a similar deck; hits like a truck, but VERY inconsistent. Opponents with consistent decks have such a massive advantage. I've play tested mine against Selesnya Aggro, Boros Midrange, Simic Monsters, Azorius Enchantment Control, Dimir Midrange, Gruul Aggro, whatever; the point is, all the other decks proved much more powerful because of the fact that they produced almost the same result while the Izzet deck counts on having most of the threats all in hand; which is not always the case. Wins that occur on turn 5-7 rarely happen with many possible variables.
A Boros aggro deck can play turn 1 Soldier of the Pantheon + turn 2 Madcap Skills on said soldier, and become a 5 turn clock (assuming it came down turn 1 and swung for 5 for the next 4 turns) and still have plenty of cards in hand, for example.
Don't get me wrong, I love Izzet. It's just a coin flip to me whether or not it's as effective as I want it to be.
December 22, 2013 12:05 a.m.
I'd only lose that race if they are running Gruul Ramp, then it would be an even fight if so, (nonramp) i'd have till their turn 9. I WILL win that race. @corythackston

I agree. You really need a few more creatures or hexproof. Maybe Mizzium Skin .
