The core strategy of the deck is simple...race them. I like Selesnya because you get your manas' worth. Of the 24 creature spells, 16 have power and/or toughness greater than the mana it costs to cast them. 4 of the remaining creatures grow, and the other 4 generate more creatures.
First point of interest: I need opinions on the merits of Gods Willing vs Brave the Elements. Having the same mana cost puts them neck and neck for me. I anticipate Brave having more aggro tendencies, possibly letting my board presence swing through theirs for a win, while also giving me a mode to protect a creature from removal. Gods, on the other hand, gives me a scry which is great to help avoid dead draws, and can also allows to protect creatures that aren't white. I'm conflicted and would appreciate any points of view.
For the sideboard, Polukranos is a solid threat and additionally, and more importantly for my purposes, I can use his Monstrous as targeted removal for Specters, Masters, Rats, etc. Last Breath takes care of similar threats. Mistcutter wrecks anything blue. Rootborn Defenses is primarily for Supreme Verdict though it works on Anger of the Gods and overloaded Mortars as well. Pithing Needle is for Planeswalkers and Rats, it can also halt Underworld Connections, and hilariously it also walls Maze's End, which won me an fnm round. Sundering Growth can eliminate pesky enchantments and get me another creature for two mana.
I'm very open to suggestions and ideas! Thanks. And toss me a +1 if you like!
