"We gather the past from surface dwellers, and sell it right back to them."
-- Golgari Findbroker

A value-centric Sultai synergy deck building around Muldrotha .

Initially grew out of treasure value decks from Ixalan, and historic synergy cards from Dominaria, and then became a 'real' mid-range grindy deck with the Golgari and Dimir cards from Guilds of Ravnica. With the release of 'Allegiance, and the current mid-range meta, it plays more like a control deck. If you like grindy games with lots of decision points, this is a fun deck to play!

If you want to make it more streamlined you can easily add multiples of some of the cards - the only two-ofs in the deck are Muldrotha herself, and Tendershoot Dryad , since they both function as distinct wincons. For personal reasons I prefer the added flavour and toolboxy feel of singleton style decks. This deck doesn't sacrifice much power going this route, though.

Currently I would call it a tier 1.5 deck. You can go on a tear with it in standard if your meta is mid-rangy. The most challenging matchups are pure control, and niche combo brews - but these matches are also a lot of fun to navigate!

General play strategy
- focus on hitting your land drops on curve
- be very selective with removal
- make early trades wherever possible
- if you play Rona or Muldrotha , make sure you also have a card in-hand to bring them back.

If you can put Muldrotha in play with recursion in-hand, you will generally be so far ahead that you will win in the next half-dozen turns. Focus on drawing into Nightveil Predator , Twilight Prophet or Tendershoot Dryad to close the game.

Come on down to Rot and Ruin, where the value is guaranteed, at any price! Denizens slimy, multifarious and, erm, dinosaur-y all equally welcome!

Updates Add

Main
- OUT: Underrealm Lich
Not currently a good fit for standard. Paying life is too much of a cost for the narrow benefits it offers in fringe match ups. Always the first card out during sideboarding.
- IN: Incubation Druid
Enables some slightly faster draws, smooths the mana and can beat down or block in the mid-game. Has performed well so far.

Sideboard
- OUT: Guardian Project, Journey to Eternity  Flip
These proved too situational and were almost never sided in.
- IN: Unmoored Ego
Silver bullet card for certain fringe but annoying decks.
- IN: Vraska's Contempt
Mostly for dealing with Vivien, sometimes Colossuses.
