A combo deck featuring Auspicious Starrix , Craterhoof Behemoth and Samut, Tyrant Smasher

The plan is to ramp out Auspicious Starrix as fast as possible. We ramp with a classic package consisting of: Llanowar Elves , Paradise Druid , Migratory Greathorn . Additionally we also run: Pollywog Symbiote and Parcelbeast . Both of them ramp and help us find our combo pieces.

We then run many mutation creatures to enable our combo.

Once we play Auspicious Starrix , preferably on a Paradise Druid with a couple of mutations on it, we hope to hit Samut, Tyrant Smasher and Craterhoof Behemoth and end the game. Since all cards in this deck are permanents, we will always put all the exiled card from Auspicious Starrix into play.

Since our mutation creatures get really cheap thanks to Pollywog Symbiote , we can dig really effectivly especially once we have Dreamtail Heron in play.

An ideal starting hand consists of: 2-3 Lands 1 Llanowar Elves 1 Pollywog Symbiote 1 Auspicious Starrix 1-2 any ramp or card draw

Thanks to our plethora of ramp cards, most opening hands are keepable. Just make sure you have some kind of draw or filtering so you dont stand there empty handed on turn four waiting for better times.

In a best case scenario you are capable of playing basically your whole deck on turn 4-5 attacking with 10-15 20/20 creautres!

  • Llanowar Elves -> Ramp
  • Paradise Druid -> Ramp and protection. This deck does not need to attack until we combo. Paradise Druid ramps as long a needed and once it has mutations on it should **not** be tapped again!
  • Pollywog Symbiote -> Ramp and filtering anytime we play a mutation
  • Parcelbeast -> Ramp and filtering. It can be important to mutate Parcelbeast on a separate mutation target than you other mutations so it does not disalbe the hexproof from Paradise Druid .
  • Gemrazer -> solid mutation creature
  • Glowstone Recluse -> cheap mutation creature.
  • Dreamtail Heron -> one of the most important creatures in this deck. It helps us continuously playing cards once we go off and helps us find combo pieces.
  • Auspicious Starrix -> the main star of the show
  • Craterhoof Behemoth -> I first played without Craterhoof. It happened quite often that got 7 - 10 creatures in to play and could not kill my oponent because many of them only have 1 attack. So Craterhoof is needed to finish of our opponent.
  • Samut, Tyrant Smasher -> also an extremly important piece to the puzzle. Getting your whole deck into play is nice and all but you can not wait a turn to attack. Most decks will wipe your board, if you give them a turn, or combo of themselfes. Giving all our creatures haste also allowes us to use our ramp creatures when they get cheated into play with Auspicious Starrix
Currently none since I only play BO1
