@Josh5591: Bombs don't work too well in this deck as I rely on small, low cost and above the curve creatures to quickly deal a lot of damage.

Matt McGowen wants you to look up other decks and repost them. Please stop offending him by being original and creative. He seems volatile and sad.

Runechanters pike or a sword of some kind, and mental misstep and surgical extraction are all it needs to wreck people in FNM but for pauper this can cause some issues especially standard pauper, which has a lot less turn 1 kills

I like it

Moonreader has a good point as well btw. That life gain cost could end up fucking you over vs. other aggro decks with stronger aggro..

Gitaxian Probe is a cool card but still, x 4? Same with mana leak. Wouldn't 3 mana leak + 1 stronger counter be better. I am a noob after all but otherwise, enlighten me, please. ;)

The rest of you guys are kind of missing the point. This is a momentum deck. The entire goal is to keep your opponent with as few permanents in play as possible, particularly creatures, so that you can use that momentum to kill with fast, cheap creatures like Phantasmal Bear or Vault Skirge . Overall i'd say this is a very well built deck, but I agree that you may want to switch Mana Leak for Cancel , and look at removing some of the cross color phyrexian mana. You can get away with it in a momentum deck, but I personally find it a bit risky to ding myself to cast half my cards.

After playtesting this against haunted humans I noticed your deck might need more mana 9/10 games it lost due to lacking mana, also 7/10 games it ran out of gas (it's chances of winning seems to rely heavily on a transformed delver on turn 2).

Of course my playtesting might be off on how you'd run this deck, so would you not keep a hand if it had more mana than spells or if it had only 1 land? Do you keep mulliganing until you get a turn 1 delver? Do you control over aggro or aggro over control (like either keeping mana open for Mana LeakMTG Card: Mana Leak or playing that bear)?

You Have A Big Problem

Your only life gain is the lifelink from a 1/1 creature and you have like 11 New Phyrexia which equals to 22 life!!!!

If Your Opponet does a lot of damage your counted as dead even if you counter you will run out of mana.

golden urn? yeah it could be good... and phyrexian mana isnt a bad deal it ramps past things

Hi, I just mentioned this deck to a player on Tappedout because he can't get too much financial assistance with deck building. I STILL love this deck TOO MUCH. Feel free to put Thought ScourMTG Card: Thought Scour in this!

Yay for all the comments! To answer a few questions:

1) I am perfectly comfortable keeping an opening hand of 1 land and a or Phantasmal Bear MTG Card: Phantasmal Bear . It just works when I play it irl.

2) I know that I have a crap ton of Phyrexian mana, but this deck is all about tempo and being ahead of the curve and getting a good board position as quickly as possible. I want to kill them before they can obtain a significant board position, and usually that means not leaving mana open until turn 3 or 4 and continuously dropping creatures.

3) I know that mono red is a pretty bad matchup for this deck, and I'm not sure how to make this more resilient. Any suggestion?

4) Stormbound GeistMTG Card: Stormbound Geist vs Stitched DrakeMTG Card: Stitched Drake, which one is better? Do know that I have no problems getting out a Drake. Ever.

5) Artful DodgeMTG Card: Artful Dodge? Or perhaps Nephalia SeakiteMTG Card: Nephalia Seakite?

Thanks for all your help guys and for making this a top rated deck! =D

February 8, 2012 12:23 p.m.

Artful DodgeMTG Card: Artful Dodge is a good addition to sneak in fast damage. Nephalia SeakiteMTG Card: Nephalia Seakite is outside of your curve too much to be a good fit.

Stick with Stitched DrakeMTG Card: Stitched Drake

Witchbane OrbMTG Card: Witchbane Orb will fuck over mono red 9 times out of 10.
