D.Bauer338 Coat with Venom is especially great with Drana and Swiftwing since they have first strike.

Guys, talk about removal. Drana, Liberator of Malakir and Gurmag Swiftwing with Coat with Venom is a thing. The opponents don't even see it coming and they remove even the biggest of creatures. Tried it last night and the look they have on their face is priceless.

Is you play it for real, like 4 copies of each, is a great strategy.

D.Bauer338 Skullhunter entering tapped is no different then every creature in this deck having summoning sickness. You are talking about haste now, which Black normally does not provide.
Kolaghan Skirmisher is a vanilla 2/2 for 2. Even with the dash I know there are better options. Thornbow Archer? 2 damage for 1 right there. Honestly would rather have Gurmag Swiftwing, but I'd also rather have the Skullhunter than either of those 2.
I'll probably try the Coat with Venom thing at some point.

Thornbow Archer seems pretty nice as well. I was thinking that the damn thing hurts us too until I saw that it was an elf (a black elf? Why is it nor a Drow?) That's pretty much 2/2 for 1, value! Now im going to have to count how many damn viable elves there are in standard...

How do you feel about 2 Malakir Familiars in place of the 2 Drana's I don't have? Seeing as I only have 2 of her atm, I feel like the Familiars puts nice air pressure of pesky Dragon decks and the dreaded Mantis Rider

deadgrove if you can't get your hands on the Drana's you can use what Elvish recommended in his deck explanation.
I saw some value in the Mardu Skullhunter last night. I am not removing them for now. I did insert 2x Duress along with 2x Transgress the Mind. I also included 2x Coat with Venom over 2x Foul-Tongue Shriek

ElvishSpirit D.Bauer338 Did you play the deck this week? I crushed a mono red, R/U and W/U control. I lost violently to a W/B/G Aristocrat deck that was using Zulport cutthroat (blood artist) and a crazy sac outlet. They brought in a bunch of low CMC creatures, created scions, saced them and had zulport crush me. Game ender was a xxW card that brought back all the cards from the graveyard and then he sacd to kill me.
I also played a Jund deck that I was killed by Drana and Hangerback. Your own tricks against us. Should have sided in Ultimate Price and Murderous Cut to take care of them.

I played it friday, lost bad to a abzan deck running abzan falconer, 5/6 flying rhinos are pretty hard to deal with. I took over a red/White Zada aggro, went 2-1 there all three games would have went the other way one turn later. I out ran my buddies Green/black sac deck. Other then that I had fun with it now I'm off to building a G/W Harden scales deck.

Went 2-2. Played Abzan, Temur Eldrazi, B/W Allies, and Mono-red Burn.
Abzan pretty much crushed me, and all my sideboard cards were never drawn. Horrible luck, really. I usually do wonders to Abzan and my deck never got the draws it usually gets.
Killed Temur Eldrazi
Killed B/W Allies
MonoRed burn, just like Atarka Red last week, came down to game 3, 5 life left each. But he narrowly won.
So I went 2-2 again but Lose-Win-Win-Lose was overall a better feeling than Win-Win-Lose-Lose.
Also I am without a doubt taking a break from this deck, I have an G/B Aristocrats Eldrazi deck, Sultai Elves deck, a recently built commander and a monoblack modern aggro deck that I've all been wanting to use. So I might just let this deck sit until Oath, but when Oath comes out, this deck will be my #1 priority.

Alakai, if you want the deck list I'm running I'll post it. I made a few changes to it.

D.Bauer338 Please do. I am running this deck exclusively in standard and will happily take advice on it. I have been testing it out with different combinations as well.

I went 3-2 with my deck at FNM. Losing only to Abzan and Dark Jeskai. Both I barely lost. I got the dark jeskai deck to 1 life until he exiled my Tainted Remedy and then life gained his way back. And against the abzan deck I just got mana flooded in the third game. But the deck performed pretty well besides that. I made some changes to mine though, http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-sht/#c2401472, and I think itll perform better.

SB? Sure!
The "game 1" cards of this deck are the 2 Duress, 2 Foul Tongue Shrieks, Ruinous Paths and Bone Splinters. These are the cards you typically want to take out if not being used properly in the matchup.
Aggro, Burn, Boros, Atarka - Side in the other 2 Duress, replace Ruinous Paths with Ultimate Price
Jeskai, Abzan, Scales - Side in Transgress The Mind, Infinite Obliteration, and if there is a strong G/W presence, Self-Inflicted Wound
Enchantments, Control, Superfriends - Keep the Ruinous Paths and add the 4th, side in both Transgress The Mind and other 2 Duress.
Only side out creatures for more kill spells if you are facing an equally as aggressive creature deck, which in this current meta, it isn't often.

I don't think Shadows over Innistrad is going to be a very good set

hey ElvishSpirit great deck!! Was wondering what you think about my MOno Black Build Mono-Black We belong to Thulsa Doom! and input or advice would be appreciated thanks

I agree I do like Mardu Skullhunter for the discard ability, But a card that enters tapped does not improve the Aggro approach to this deck imo. I feel a nice replacement for him would be Kolaghan Skirmisher
