for copying dual casting would be better as it only costs one mana to do it but you do have to tap a creature, it would mean you could change the guildmage for something else

I'm very keen on the Cipher idea, it's an excellent infinite combo win. I was considering splashing black for Paranoid Delusions instead due to it being much easier to play, and also leaving mana open for Remand or Dispel when a player tries to counter.
I like the idea of Dual Casting , it's also much easier to get a hold of because it's more recent, but I feel with so few creatures that it will weaken the deck slightly. It's certainly a possibility for sideboard with good cohesion with most spells in the deck.

Imo both Guttersnipe and Gelectrode are pretty vulnerable at 3 mana and having a max toughness of 2 in this deck in modern.
You don't have many ways of dealing with threats on the table i'd suggest running Lightning Bolt along with more "free" spells... Snapback and Disrupting Shoal from blue and Rift Bolt and possibly Lightning Axe against certain matchups
Basilisk Collar can really help you get more out of Gelectrode

Forgot to mention, Mutagenic Growth might be a nice answer to opponents trying to burn your creatures off the table

you picked a very homosexual naruto character. thought he was girl for like a year...

I don't care if he is homosexual, he's still my favorite Naruto Character and fits the theme of the deck correctly. I don't really care if you have a problem.

Cipher requires combat damage, so the spells wont proc unless you start swinging.
That said, add an Invisible Stalker and all your enemies shall tremble.

A friend of mine runs a similar Izzet burn deck, which is fun to play with since it is, like my gruul aggro deck (Sugar Rush), is a fast pace battle.. The first one to blink will lose.. lol.. cool deck name also.. I'm a fan of deidara as well.. Explosion!! lol..

+1 because Deidra is AWESOME and I like the Guttersnipe burn :)

+1 from me. Has Young Pyromancer found his place here yet?
August 15, 2013 12:42 p.m.
I've been testing with Young Pyromancer a lot. I think it's a lot of fun to swing with loads of 1/1 elementals, but the Pyromancer Ascension is superior in Modern. It doesn't die to creature removal or burn so is a better way to put a sufficient presence on the board with it making all my spells literally double what they are. I do sometime play it though, just because it's that much fun

your deck originally inspired me to build this deck: Young Delver Ascension. but it moved more in the directions of my likes

Dude. I love you for the Naruto quote and the great deck...

Props for the Deidara reference! the deck looks solid.

God I hate Deidara. I really thought he was a chick for years when i was reading the mangas. When I realized he was a dude my world just didn't make sense anymore. Far too OP in the Naruto video games too. I guess he is somewhat relevant to the deck though.

I'm not in love with Guttersnipe in this build. Any turn you could cast him you'd be probably better off starting your combo. By casting him you're admitting that your deck is fizzling at the moment.

Add Last Thoughts . A little expensive maybe, and you cant cast it on Gelectrode. But it synergies even better whith guttersnipe than curiosity.
