This deck seeks to attack lightning bolt decks and otherwise make your opponent’s removal dead by utilizing creatures with pro red and in some cases pro black. Or in the case of Boris reckoner, chain lightning-ing your opponent or their creatures if they should choose to attempt to bolt him. In addition, we use pyroclasm to create one-sided board wipes. Another quirk of the deck is the use of flagstones of trokair to create mana-ramping to enable us to play 3-mana spells on T2 or drop Helios T3. The flagstones also serve as mana-fixing by allowing us to search for sacred foundry. Outside of those quirks the deck plays as a fairly straightforward creature combat/direct damage based archetype. The last trick up our sleeve is some passive life gain to help give us an edge on our opponents clock with spells like lightning helix and the triggered ability of joe fire walker. The presence of just one joe fire walker on the battlefield renders a lot of RDW’s creatures dead in the water as well as reducing all bolts to the face into essentially shocks.
