Modern Control Midrange UBR (Grixis)

Sna-Kun

Sideboard

A grixis midrange control deck. It's kind of a mess, I know, but I'm working towards improvements as I go. For now, the idea is to bury my opponent under removal to build toward any of my late-game bombs. Free moments (or on the off-chance I'm lacking in removal) in a game let the three Gods of the list touch down to provide gradual increases to momentum.

The low land count is a mix of "I just have unbelievable luck with low land counts" and "tactical use of filtering to avoid flooding out"

Sideboard Notes: Shattering Spree as a one-of is mostly meant as a late-game answer to affinity-type decks, and is just a nice piece of tech to have as added insurance. Creature-light matchups (I.E. Storm) can have the removal boarded out for counters and more direct damage. Control Matchups are tough, and are largely won through small victories throughout the match, with Mindsparker triggers and whittling damage from Mogis and Keranos. Adding Counterspells to the list made the matchup easier, but no less grindy. Aggro-type matches are pretty easy. Board out Mogis and run right over them. I am considering Bile Blight or some other equivalent to make it more effective against more all-in aggro and tokens, but I haven't made a decision yet.

Wow, its been a while since I edited this list....

The goal is still the same: Keep removing until they bleed out their eyes. That's how Grixis wins games. The list needed some more hard counters, and I acquired nearly everything that this deck needed to round out. Its a grindy win, to be sure, but I love it nevertheless.
