If you're ramping and staxing, why not run Death Cloud ? Nath is probably the best commander for it. You might get more out of Exsanguinate than Maga, Traitor to Mortals . He only hits one, has no trample, evasion or other abilities, so will just be chumped or removed fast, while Exsanguinate drains every opponent, much more efficient! Also, with so many dying tokens, you may as well run Grave Pact or similar to capitalize on it.

Thanks for the reply Coucho_Marx!

This deck was built to stop combo/aggro decks I play against, Most of the cards were cut out because they weren't consistently getting the deck where it needs to be. My friends run fairly fast decks, winning around turn 6-7 and if I can't get Smokestack , Braids, Cabal Minion or Contamination effects out ASAP, generally someone just wins. I cut them for the following reasons:

Death Cloud was cut because i never found a chance to cast it for over 4/5 mana, rarely hitting more then pox. However I may run it again.

I've been switching between Maga, Traitor to Mortals and Exsanguinate , sticking with Maga simply because by the time I cast him, the board is usually clear, and I love the Kamigawa block flavor.

Grave Pact is one I've been flopping between, there are games where it pulls more then its weight, and others where it sits in my hand waiting to be Lilly fodder, albeit it's probably going back in the list before the other 2 cards.

This is awesome! I had a deck just like this a while back, but took it apart to build other decks. Nath is really fun, and no body expects him. I see you run Massacre Wurm , have you ever considered being a huge douche and running Natural Affinity ? Talk about losing friends... lol

Thanks for the reply!

Life and Limb is a card I own, does the same thing. I could for "fun" but until my LGS gets a copy of The Abyss , the deck is getting changed much.

Life and Limb seems ok, but that only makes forests into creatures. Natural Affinity makes ALL lands creatures, and with the wurms ETB effect, it will blow up everyone's lands, plus 2 damage per land destroyed. Not trying to argue, just making sure you knew where I was coming from with the suggestion. Also not sure if land destruction is "acceptable" in your meta. I know a lot of ppl i play with bitch about land d, so nobody plays like that.

I love land destruction, but I really don't need it in this deck, I'm aiming to get an early stax piece. And keep the board in a soft lock. Its a great suggeation if someone else is building a stax deck.

You wanna go stax? Have you ever seen Tainted AEther ? Works AMAZING with Grave Pact and Nath. Turns it all into a "You discard a card, oh, and everybody but me sac a creature." Locks the board down right quick.

Thanks for the suggestion! Tainted AEther was cut because of where it would be on the curve, and how much it punishes a core part of this deck's permanent generation. If I were to build this deck in another way It would easily be added to just keep creature decks pinned.

Thanks for the suggestion! But with only 3 elves in my deck to reveal for it I don't see it coming in untapped enough. Its great for a tribal elf variant however.

I really like the deck kool changes, a little but if this a little bit of that and a whole frak ton if discard. How vulnerable is the deck to board wipes?

And you had to put Descent into Madness in the deck.

It depends on how I set up my lock, most board wipes can't hit me if I start properly anyway.

You should try Diabolic Intent instead of Cruel Tutor due to the tokens you get from Nath.

I need the tutoring before I play nath. Its decent if I was slower.

August 7, 2014 9:33 p.m.

Also, try Strionic Resonator ! You have many triggered abilities that can be abused, including Nath's.

Plow Under One of the most frustrating, anti-land / anti-tempo cards I've played against. Would fit into your deck I feel.

Thanks for the suggestion! My problem is that it costs 5 mana and doesn't effect the entire board. It's solid but I would rather run Pox in that spot for the wombo with my general and the land removal that hits the whole table.
