What do you mean commander doesn't have a ban list? It says Braids is banned in commander on Gatherer? And doesn't the French Commander game type have a banlist that is different from regular commander?

Don't get me wrong thoufh, I'm not saying that Braids is bad, or that I would change braids for Sheoldred if I had to choose one. I was just under the impression that I'm not allowed to play braids, cuz it's banned according to gatherer, and seeing as my play group followd that for some reason. I would absolutely adore to play with Braids. And the argument that you want small cmc cards, is that the reason you're running grave pact and not Dictate of Erebos?

Only have space for one of the two at the moment, If my meta becomes more creature based Pact Would be a strong choice. Pact is also less, so It's not competing with casting Nath of the Gilt-Leaf. My curve topper and important card to cast.
I understand, My playgroup I'm currently in follows the rules fairly strictly. The EDH Rules Commitee, makes the Banned list/ rules changes for EDH. They support a "social format". At Their Website You can find the official list. Before the list of banned cards the lines "The following is the official banned list for commander games. These cards (and others like them) should not be played without prior agreement from the other players in the game." are before them. This is a problem because people will use them as concrete rules. I don't want to get too preachy about it, as I'm very opposed to their mentality regarding the list, but if you run this by your playgroup you may have different results.

Okay, I see. So if I get the opportunity to play braids in main board, what would you say I should swap out for her? =)

Scooze. He's being tried in a flex slot right now as grave hate, but if I had access to braids I'd run her over him.

I see that you took out Reassembling Skeleton. What was your reasoning behind that, if I may ask? He's really good with skullclamp and as a semi-permanent blocker. =OI'm running this deck in EDH too so I am merely curious about your thought process. =)
Like, I understand why you want Mindslicer main board with this much sac outlet, plus if you drop him without sac outlet you force other people to waste an exile card on it. Just curious, as stated earlier. =)

Skullclamping skeleton was really mana intensive and was useful once in all the games I've played. I was really just looking for a cut to try mindslicer and realized skeleton has been discard fodder 100% of the time in all of my recent games.

Aaah, yeah, I understand. I really like the land change you also did. More sac outlets! Good stuff. =D

Can you explain how you don't have to sac to smokestack please? I'm building this deck and would like to make sure I'm playing it correctly
January 12, 2016 9:24 a.m.
You have to sac to smokestack but you use Nath's tokens.
January 12, 2016 9:31 a.m.
OK that's what I thought but wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly

That and when your upkeep rolls around both of Smokestacks triggers go onto the stack. Since they're your triggers you decide the order that they resolve. Letting the sacrifice trigger resolve first. Will mean you sacrifice no permanents, then add the first counter. On your next upkeep you'll sacrifice one then add a second counter. Its a neat rule on triggers that go into the stack simultaneously that we get to abuse as a decent tempo swing.

I like it, and it finds space in the decks flex slots from time to time. I shines when you snap off an early sadistic hypnotist/mindslicer. But it doesn't go a whole lot outside of that. I might add it if I try and like Dark Deal but as it stands I wouldn't run it other than to fill the spot of chains of mephistopheles for budget reasons.
January 12, 2016 3:42 p.m.
Yeah, I see your point. I am running Waste Not and Dark Deal in this deck irl at the moment (don't yet own the legends cards). I also think about adding Library of Leng if you don't want to wheel your own hand or at least some cards from it.

I was testing scripts on the site and our benevolent master yeagooo assumed that a script I'd set up to upvote this deck had been in place since the dawn of time, blamed me for the decks upvotes, but was still generous enough to not delete the deck because it's such a damn good primer.
Hell, I don't think it actually got him any votes on the deck beside the one vote that was me testing the script. If it did it wasn't more than 2 or 3 - the script triggered on someone visiting my profile and I'm a nobody.

Why don't you run Cabal Coffers in this deck? =OIsn't it usually an auto include when you run Urborg?

I did but it's clunky to set up with out tuoring for one or both pieces. The deck doesn't need more than 5/6 mana apart from casting death cloud, Cradle does the job better since we'll almost always have mana dorks or tokkens to push it to a High mana count. Coffers is also painful in your opening hand, and did do enough to justify the clunky starts.
January 24, 2016 5:46 p.m.
More questions, lol. Why not run Imperial Seal instead of Diabolic Tutor? Isn't 4 mana for a tutor a bit too much?In my play-experience of this deck I almost never kept diabolic tutor in my opening hand cuz it was just too expensive. =O

Ah, but it's coming. That's cool to know. =D And regarding my earlier question about coffers. Would you say coffers is a budget cradle?
January 25, 2016 5:07 p.m.
EndStepTop says... #25
Yeah, budget builds could probably get away with running coffers/crop rotation for that explosive mana.
