Likely just a bad idea, but what about Living Plane? Its function may be limited, but it gives you the ability to destroy all lands in play- Something that black/green doesn't really have outside of Death Cloud.

Living plane is far too narrow and while I can't wipe all lands, conamination effects are quiet prevelant in my colors and in the same territory for strength.

No, she costs 5, for the same price I can play Nath. She can't produce fodder through a Contamination effects. For this deck she's a worse Imperious Perfect

I have the strong feeling, that your deckbox also contains many leather-bound books.

It feels so fragile to me. How does it fair against pure control? Have you considered Pernicious Deed? Glissa, the Traitor Pharika's Mender and Mindslaver could add some resiliency. just my 2 cents

Deed, while I love it and want to run it hits my own permanents too often and mind slaver non-bos with Null rod. Glissa Is far too slow for what this deck does, while Pharika's mender is too costly for such a narrow effect. Against pure control I toss Nath's discard triggers and usually back up my plan with recursion.

if null rod is your bag why not throw in Mycosynth Lattice a hefty price but it seems like it covers more than contamination. Also stops that mono black stax deck from making your life hell. Then again it also stops you from casted big anything. But by the time you can cast it I'm sure you'll have better board presence than anyone with such a consistent deck

Most mono B decks are reliant on mana rocks and a well timed null rod can ruin them, they also lack removal for Smokestack and will flounder in the pressure of that.

I was under the impression mono black used things like Cabal Coffers [[extraplanar lense]] to mana ramp. My metas mono black players use very little artifact ramp actually. But I'm sure every meta is different even when it comes to mono colored decks. How does this deck fair against combo?

Cabal Coffers has been 9/10 times hit by a Wasteland effect. Extraplanar Lens and it's Ilk all fall to pulse/purtefy and the like. Combo hasn't been a problem, the obnoxious amount of Abyss effecta keep creature decks at bay and the discard tears apart other combo decks. The use of Null rod literally has caused artifact combo decks to scoop to a resolved t2 rod.

Probably want to invest in a nice wood waterproofing sealant to protect your deckbox from your opponent's tears.

- awesome deck, man. I have a similar build using Nath, and I love it. My meta is full of babies, tho, so I don't get to play the deck much. Good to see someone using Nath as a degenerate commander like myself. +1 all day long, sir.

Glissa>nath. :P your deck inspired my glissa deck. Ended up having to take it apart and just build glissa recursion haha.

Awesome! I started with Glissa as the commander, shes great as a midrange/more typical control commander, but when I found Nath he was secured as the commander.

I originally clicked on this to upvote for the namesake. Then after having a good look at this build decided id vote it up just because its pretty damn cool. I dont play commander but thislooks like a shit ton of fun to pilot. i have never seen smokestack. That card is super nasty.

Double thanks for the vote then! Personally the deck is really fun to play. It mirrors legacy decks in the way that you always feel like you misplayed, not topdecked the wrong cards. And I had the same thought when I first saw smokestacks. It was love at first sight really.

The problem I had with it was it's spot on my curve. At 4 mana I'm looking to get Smokestacks or an Abyss effect out to pressure players, if not I'm casting a mana denial stax effect. However I've always dismissed it but I haven't been happy with greed/erebos and could use more draw power. The other problem is figuring out what cards I want to take out. in the next week or two I should have the chance to test a change like fitting Grimoire in. Regardless thanks for the suggestion!
