Hm, not sure how I overlooked that lol. I guess I just assumed he was legendary, time for some quick research and a change.

If you search around here you'll find plenty of Mayael decks. I also have made my own version.
Some cards you should run: Worldly Tutor , Congregation at Dawn , Bloom Tender , Thousand-Year Elixir , Rings of Brighthearth , Seedborn Muse . Add some ramp (card:Mirari's Wake, Garruk Wildspeaker , Recross the Paths ) and stick to 35-38 lands.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions. I added all the cards you mentioned to my sideboard as I slowly aquire all the cards I need so I can keep them in mind and remember them as the deck evolves. Thank you!

You should read this article. I wrote it a while ago to address the basics of building an EDH deck.

Thank you Epochalyptik. I've noticed you were probably one of the premiere EDH players on this site and I will set some time aside to read the article tonight most likely.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Sigarda, Host of Herons would be extremely helpful. Akroma, Angel of Wrath is expensive, card:Akroma's Memorial less so. Add in True Conviction to make your creatures even more dangerous.
Sun Titan , Emeria, The Sky Ruin for recursion. Reya Dawnbringer is expensive and can't be cheated out with your commander, but can be considered. Prismatic Omen for mana-fixing (though it opens you up for every type of landwalk).
Shock lands are extremely helpful, too.
One of the Elspeths, probably Elspeth, Knight-Errant if you can afford it, Ajani Vengeant gives you some control, but can draw hate. And either Garruk Wildspeaker or Garruk, Primal Hunter , possibly even both.
You also probably want board wipes and creature hate as well. Beast Within destroys any permanent, even planeswalkers.
Wrath of God , Day of Judgment , card:Akroma's Vengeance, Austere Command , Blasphemous Act , Bonfire of the Damned , Rout - Choose a couple of them to use.
Path to Exile is almost a must with all the indestructible nowadays. If someone in your group uses a lot of equipment, try Soul Nova . I'd also throw in an Oblivion Ring
If you're still looking for fatties, how about Khalni Hydra ?

you have 2 Birthing Pod s in the deck, otherwise, more eldrazi.
December 3, 2012 8:13 p.m.
Just to note you have multiples of Birthing Pod and Rings of Brighthearth .
December 3, 2012 8:15 p.m.
Also if you are willing to spend some extra money on this deck I would highly recommend Regrowth over card:Nature's Spiral.
Ghostway is an amazing card to save your creatures from board wipes.
I don't particularly like Sunstrike Legionnaire but that all depends on what form of decks you play with.

Ah, good eye guys. With that, I should be able to put in more Eldrazi lol.
December 3, 2012 8:20 p.m.
Just a note with the Eldrazi legends, their abilities do not trigger with Mayael's ability.

@Famzim13. Right now he is solely in here because he infinetely combos with Splinter Twin . The more I learn about EDH and the workings of this deck, I'm sure he will come out for something that synergizes with Mayael better.

Yea, the wording does kind of prevent that doesn't it. Hm. Like I said the more I learn the better I'll be able to create synergies between my cards. Thanks so much for everything so far!
December 3, 2012 8:24 p.m.
Do you speak of Ulamog infinitely combining with Splinter twin? How so I wish to know.
December 3, 2012 8:28 p.m.
I would recommend Blightsteel Colossus and Darksteel Colossus .

Oh no, I meant Sunstrike Legionnaire lol. And very good suggestions! They completely slipped my mind. Both are tutorable with the beast tracker as well, which is good. Thanks!

I decided to take out Parallel Lives instead of card:Nature's Spiral that way I could have that and Regrowth increasing my recursion rate.

The first thing I notice is you only have 26 creatures. Now that may just be preference, but of those 26 only 15 have power 5+. With Guild Feud , Instill Energy , Birthing Pod , Quicksilver Amulet , and Rings of Brighthearth you obviously want to be abusing Mayael and cheating in huge creatures. The problem is you have a little over 25% chance to hit with Guild Feud , Birthing Pod may still work, Quicksilver Amulet isn't being abused properly because 8 of your 26 creatures are 4 CMC or less anyway, and it seems like Instill Energy and Rings of Brighthearth are a waste since you only hit with Mayael 15 out of 99 cards.
Now that was a mouthful, but it was all to explain why I'd say, add more creatures of 5+ power. In Mayael decks, depending on how you want to play her you need to strike balance between utility creatures, and creatures with 5+ power. My Mayael deck, Mayael the Chubby Chaser focuses on cheating the creatures out at any cost, and if Mayael gets rolling I minimized creatures with power under 5 to try and make sure she hits when I activate her.
Anyway at the end of the day, it's whatever deck makes you happy!

Thanks for the wonderful analysis! I am very new to EDH so I am still working out the kinks, but with your comments in mind, I'm sure I will be able to streamline this deck further. I playtested this deck one time so far on Cockatrice and it's already a lot of fun to play, so I can't wait for it to be more streamlined. Thanks again and keep an eye out for updates!
December 4, 2012 12:12 a.m.
I love Azusa, Lost but Seeking as a card, but in the deck I don't think she is fully utilized since there are limited methods of pumping lands out of the deck, I believe the deck would be better of with a Sakura-Tribe Elder or a Yavimaya Elder .
December 4, 2012 12:37 a.m.
Also to replace some of the boring big chunkers you could use more dangerous Engulfing Slagwurm , Terastodon or Woodfall Primus .

Well, your commander should be a legendary creature.
