Ok guys, question time. Melira, Sylvok Outcast or Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit? Melira helps swing the infect matchup, but Anafenza can help that bit of damage to go through. Thoughts?

Melira, Sylvok Outcast is easier to cast, especially since you are using a budget manabase. Also, I think shoring up the infect matchup is more valuable than bolster, but it depends on your meta. Your main win con will be to use your Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat to combo off. Beatdown is an option, but a secondary win con.

Yeah DMPv01, that was my thought line. It does help in some matchups though, like when Naya company is trying to go all in.

Just a thought Bloodsoaked Champion in particular if it's paired with Nantuko Husk.

Yep. Generally, I suppose Anafenza is better value against anything else besides infect, but since infect is a weakness, why not address it, right?

BTW, I have a very similar build (caught my eye from mtggoldfish) if you'd like to check it out. So far it's been a lot of fun.

Akos14 Nah, that's not good enough for modern. Standard is a different story, but not modern. DMPv01 cool, I'll check it out.

Why no Kitchen Finks? It is just another combo with Melira, and gives infinite life.

Mr.Button please check the description before commenting, our budget is 120$ and Kitchen Finks would put us over that limit. Also, it can't be hit with Return to the Ranks for the combo.

Immortal Servitude over return to the ranks, it's just better for mana in both color and cmc, plus it hits all creatures per the cost. Also, Kitchen Finks would be way more support for your deck over the 2-drop, and can be hit by a slightly higher cast Servitude instead of whiffed by a return to the ranks.

DSeddy] thank you so much! I had no idea that card existed, a thousand you of good top decking for you good sir! As previously stated with Mr.B though, Kitchen Finks puts us over budget.
