My Little Green Friends (In Black)

Modern Competitive Elves Tribal

stewbert01

Sideboard

A new build of my original "My Little Green Friends" deck! Continuing my never ending search to mimic the power of legacy elves in modern. has been replaced with to gain much needed interaction in the forms of Abrupt Decay for decks like Jund. This build of the deck also gains Shaman of the Pack but louses the Devoted Druid, Vizier of Remedies, Ezuri, Renegade Leader combo. To win the game Tooth and Nail is often used to get a few of the best elf (he's an elf in his heart) Craterhoof Behemoth. Sometimes we also just drain/beat our opponents out of the game with Ezuri, Renegade Leader activations, Shaman of the Packs or Elvish Archdruid.

In play testing I do feel that this build of little green friends has far better interaction with most problem decks after side boarding and is more resilient to removal because of low cost beaters such as Nettle Sentinel. It is still explosive but it does feel harder to sometimes assemble a win condition or a meaningful clock with the loss of the Devoted Druid combo. Turn 3 Tooth and Nail is still a very real thing but the loss of the infinite mana combo is felt.

Currently Collected Company has not made this build. Although it is objectively good in this general type of deck including it slows down my fast mana plans as I would probably have to cut something like Utopia Sprawl/Arbor Elf to have it.

As always any advice/comments are appreciated. I'm excited to hear what you think.
