Hey welcome!! Thanks for stopping by to check out my new version of the Aristrocrats deck.

The premise is kind of the same as other aristocrats deck, but in this case if we haven't already won by midgame via [blood artist]] and a couple 5/5 Demon's courtesy of Skirsdag High Priest we can just flood our board with all those pesky 2 drops with an X=2 Immortal Servitude .

Once a Xathrid Necromancer hits the board most decks are usually in a world of hurt. Even a board wipe will usually result in 3 or more 2/2 zombies begging for their brains next turn.

Unlike other decks that have a "Perfect/Ideal curve out hand." This deck does not really, it has an incredible amount of synergy, and blocking with a Cartel Aristocrat and Doomed Traveler then sac'ing the traveller to give cartel pro chosen color, then gaining a 1/1 flying spirit, a 2/2 zombie, and a 5/5 demon is a very common occurence. . Alchemist's Apprentice is amazing as a chump block card draw and who doesn't want to draw a card, make a zombie, then bring them back and draw more cards and make more zombies?!

The last honourable mention regarding the synergy of this deck lies in Forbidden Alchemy. This card does EVERYTHING we want it to, digs 4 cards deep, snags up any key card we need/want, of course taking an Immortal Servitude is 100% of the time, and loading the GY with 2 drop guys to bring back!

The only guy that doesn't come back with Immortal Servitude is the Xathrid Necromancer and Doomed Traveler but Doomed Traveler has done his duty by then, and I have never had an issue with keeping a Xathrid Necromancer out as people don't have enough removal to get rid of this flood of 2 drop degenerates!! And Blood Artist is always the first target and he comes right on back to the battlefield to drain some more.

The sideboard could use a bit of work too if you see anything, please let me know. The Dispel are in their specifically for blue control decks so all I have to do is leave open 1 mana to counter their counter and my Immortal Servitude goes off and they're toast! Urgent Exorcism has replaced Sundering Growth for some testing as it is less mana intensive, doesn't hit artifacts, which rarely matters anyways, but kills Obzedat, Ghost Council. 2 Negate and 2 Sin Collector have made their way into the sideboard as I've mentioned in an update that the control match up has been the toughest, and now 1/2 of the sideboard is dedicated against them. Further testing to see how that works out! Detention Sphere has also been added to the sideboard as another form of removal against tokens, planeswalkers, and of course the dreaded Rest in Peace! As I'm writing this I believe I know what must be done...I am going to add Nevermore x3 to the sideboard, since they never want to play RIP on turn 2 anyways, they want to hold it until the graveyard is worth exiling. This is a great idea!! Hahaha.

Testing on Cockatrice this deck is doing extremely well and I'd say it's at about an 80% win rate currently, which is quite impressive I think. I'm sure there is definitely some work that can be done to improve it and I would appreciate and thoughts or advice, or feel free to give the deck a try yourself. Don't be shy to hook it up with a +1.

Thanks if you've made it all the way through this, cheers!!

Ok, going off of memory here is the best I can give as a match by match (some will be quick) of how the deck did at it's first FNM. To start, there was 32 players, I went 3-2 and finished 9th, and it should have been 3rd, (I know it's cliche as variance is a part of the game but I'll explain my sad story at the end lol.) I think it's worth noting too, I literally lost all 5 rolls last night, luck was not on my side that's for sure!

Match 1 - BWR Midrange/Control - 0-2

Game 1 - This is against a good friend of mine, who him and I are always generally in the top 4 of most draft and constructed tourneys we play locally, so needless to say we didn't want to play in round 1. A turn 3 Boros Reckoner into a turn 4Olivia Voldaren really put a damper on me coming out of the gates quick, but I fought valiantly, pinging for as much as I could, getting him to about 14 when I used an Immortal Servitude to bring back a swarm! I could drain him to 5, and had another servitude in hand to finish him next turn, but unfortunately Olivia had grown big enough to fly over them and get the job done on his turn.

Game 2 - I knew he was boarding in Rest in Peace so I boarded in my Sundering Growth to hopefully give me the edge and I had an awesome draw that would have a Skirsdag High Priest online turn 3 with a Doomed Traveler and Lingering Souls and he dropped a turn 2 Rest in Peace to shut everything down. I couldn't draw into my Sundering Growth and it was curtains. That card is definitely a problem for this deck, and almost makes me want to run a full set of Sundering Growth in the board, since they could always have other targets in Burning Earth and other pesky artifact/enchantments.

Match 2 - Mono Black Vampires 2-0

This was just an easy 2-0, he had a couple Vampire Nighthawks that kept him hanging around and forced me to stabilize but that wasn't a problem.

Match 3 - Five Color Mazes End Deck 2-0

This was against one of the strongest players we have locally also, but he felt like playing this deck tonight, and while it was actually kind of difficult, forcing me to hit and drain 40-50 life each game I still ended up with the 2-0

Match 4 - Naya Blitz (YIKES!) 2-0

Game 1 - He's on the play, as I mentioned I never won a roll. Turn 1 he plays nothing, which makes me happy. I draw and drop a shock land and pass turn. Turn 2 he plays Burning-Tree Emissary into Burning-Tree Emissary into Mayor of Avabruck  Flip. FML is all I could think. I played a Cartel Aristocrat for turn 2. Turn 3 I played another one and a Doomed Traveler and could get in a couple blocks with a sac to keep a cartel rolling, by turn 5 I was at 2 life and dropped a vault which brought me back to 8 life on his attack (with a frontline medic so I killed nothing]]. But I made a demon at the end of his turn and within a few turns I won this game and was back to almost 20 life.

Game 2 - Steam rolled the aggro deck, he had a slow start and after a few little attacks and drains, I played a supreme verdict on turn 6 or 7 with a Blood Artist and about 12 creatures on the board to end the game.

Match 5 - Gruul Aggro (Yay more aggro! NOT!) 1-2

Game 1 - Gonna keep this one short, I ran him over pretty quickly.

Game 2 - I am about to win on my next turn, feeling confident, at 8 life and he has 3 cards in hand, my EOT he Skullcracks me, his turn he Pillar of Flame then Searing Spears me for the win.

Game 3 - I draw a 1 land hand and mull to 6, where I get 4 land, a Cartel Aristocrat and a Tragic Slip. Could be better but definitely could be worse. My next 7 draws were all land.....He killed me about 2 turns before that though with 2 Stromkirk Nobles.

So, overall, I was very happy with how the deck performed, it very easily could have went 5-0 depending on different pairings, and even with the pairings I had should have 4-1, with 3 of those being very tough matches. Will keep at the drawing board and taking ideas into consideration to strengthen the deck and sideboard. I appreciate all the love, +1's and ideas from everyone so much!! It's awesome, thanks and cheers!!
