This deck is focused on dishing out damage swiftly and early in the game.
Soldier of the Pantheon and Rakdos Cackler are excellent one-drops to start off the game, and Ash Zealot, Firefist Striker, or Akroan Hoplite follow up on turn two.
Boros Reckoner is great against aggro mirrors as well as the midrange-y Selesnya or Red/Green decks. If I face a U/W or Esper Deck I will side out two of the Boros Reckoners out for two copies of Mindsparker.
Purphoros, God of the Forge takes advantage of the hordes of creatures in this deck with his +1 ability as well as getting in extra damage whenever I play a creature. If I have the devotion, then a 6/5 indestructible is welcome to join the Legion.
Lightning Strike sides for Mizzium Mortars when creatures such as Blood Baron of Vizkopa or Stormbreath Dragon hit the field. If even larger creatures like Polukranos, the World Eater or Obzedat, Ghost Council are in the opponent's deck, Chained to the Rocks swaps in. Decks consisting of fast starts and small creatures face Shock coming out of the Sideboard.
Legion's Initiative buffs my creatures as well as allowing them to escape Anger of the Gods, Supreme Verdict, e.t.c if there is enough mana to activate it.
Boros Charm can finish off an opponent after an attack, and also can render creatures indestructible.
Oh, Stormbreath Dragon helps bring a card that can face the Midrange/Colossal Gruul decks. Its also awesome enough to take the Featured Card slot.
