Hey kids! Have you ever wanted to deal 20 point of burn to your opponent??? Well now you can! With tempo much?!
Hey guys, what's up? TheGamer here with a Jeskai Tempo deck I like to call tempo much?. Because think about it... Do you Tempo Much? Anyway... I'm now going to step threw all my card choices and why...
Jeskai Ascendancy: The heart of the deck. Once we play this, even if it sticks for just a single turn we already had value off of it. It can helps us go through our deck, make are tokens bigger, and just win games.
Creatures: Creatures are really only used to get the opponent down to about 8-12. Then the burn can do the rest.
Goblin Rabblemaster: I really shouldn't need to explain this card. It's an amazing Aggro creature and can easily end games.
Seeker of the Way
: Great tempo card. Can kill big threats thanks to prowess and the life it gains back is amazing.
Brimaz, King of Oreskos: The kitty king can sometimes out mass opponents, but really it's in the deck because its a 3 drop and is bigger then all my creatures. Plus it can attack and block the next turn.
Hordeling Outburst: Basically a creature. Three mana for three tokens is nice, and Ascendancy makes them all bigger.
Wingmate Roc: It's a good Aggro creature. It may be 5 mana, but two 3/4's that fly and gain me life is worth it.
Burn Spells: The heart of the deck. Couldn't do it without these guys :)
Stoke the Flames
: Sometimes a free 4 damage to the face. Other time a 4 mana for damage isn't bad. Its actually great!
Jeskai Charm: The mode I use the most is 4 damage because that's why it's in the deck. But sometimes I have to stall a creature. Also, with Goblin Rabblemaster or Brimaz, King of Oreskos and all of their minions the +1/+1 and lifeink isn't at all irrelevant.
Magma Jet: Arguably the best burn spell in the deck. It only does 2 damage. But for two mana it can kill a dork or hit the opponent face AND set up my next draws.
Lightning Strike: Only a two of since it doesn't kill those big threats like Butcher of the Horde and Courser of Kruphix. But 2 mana for 3 damage is pretty good imo.
Random Support Cards: These cards are just as important as the others, maybe even better! They help us stabilize.
Treasure Cruise: The grave yard fills up fast thanks to Jeskai Ascendancy and so that makes Cruise a very small cost to draw 3 cards.
Chandra, Pyromaster
: She is mainly in the deck for the extra draw, but her only won me a game. Her +1 is not a force to be reckoned with since it kills dorks, tokens, and can simply get damage through. If I pull if off, the ultimate just wins me the game.
Sideboard: There are good match-ups, and bad match-ups. My side helps me beat the hard ones, and reinforce the good ones!
Arc Lightning
: Against any Aggro deck it's such a beating. It can be a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1, and is usually never a 1 for 1.
Anger of the Gods: Serves the same purpose as
Arc Lightning
, except kills everything, no exception.
Mantis Rider: Can be used against Aggro decks or any deck to just start putting on pressure early.
Keranos, God of Storms: No one expects this, no one. And not a lot gets rid of it. Its never gonna be a creature, so we can think of it as an emblem against the decks we board it in against.
Burn Away
: Sidisi Whip is a huge part of the meta. Well, for 5 mana killing a threat dead and exiling the graveyard is something that is hard for Whip to come back from.
Disdainful Stroke: Our only real answer to big threats that we can't deal with.
Neutralizing Blast
: Super powerful, it's gonna be huge in Standard. For our purposes, it hits every threat that is bad for this deck, and then some. I'm looking at you Siege Rhino!
Bad Match-Ups consist of Abzan and Control. Abzan gains too much for us to really come back. And control countering all out burn spells just loses us the game.
Good match-Ups consist of any slow deck and fast deck. We do fairly well against other Aggro builds and decks that take a while to set up.
Well guys, I hope you like it! Any comments and +1's greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and happy deckbuilding!
Well
