I would love to be able to play things like Jund and Death and Taxes, but MTG can get expensive! Hopefully I'll get a job soon, my goal is to go to a PTQ and maybe even a PT! But for all that I'll need a good (expensive) deck!

I went Jund last standard. Never looked back. Those three colors play the best cards in whatever format you're in. It is worth it.

emask I've come to love Red and this deck has made me fall in love with Jund!

gnarlicide I feel like I read somewhere about you being stationed in NC, is that true?

Nice. I was at the escapist expo in Durham recently. I played in the sealed tournament there.

Rogue decks are fun too though! Favourite actually. Sometimes it's nice to surprise your friends. That said, it's not always easy to go rogue competitively... But still, the challenge is fun.

If you're ever in spring lake, you should hit up gamers guild. I play there, it's an awesome shop

Definitely emask! Have you heard of Atomic Empire in Durham gnarlicide?

emask ah yes. I have been fucking around with a BUG midrange list for a couple weeks now. Played it yesterday, everyone was confused during round 1 and 2. It plays exactly the same as Jund would, but 1 color is different, and that was enought to turn heads. Lost in the semi finals to esper super friends... More like stupid friends. That deck was dumb, good... But dumb.

Think I'm gonna clear out the comments guys..getting a little crowded!

Yes I have. They threw the escapist expo tournament together. I have been wanting to play over there for one of their bigger tournaments. Like SCG open or GPT. I should look up when they are doing one of those and make the trip with a few dudes out here.

How exactly do you clear the comments? Never had this many on a deck before

December 28, 2013 12:17 a.m.

gnarlicide Thats my LGS they rock, hope to take this deck to a modern FNM when it comes

gnarlicide I have two rogue lists up right now and the first has been doing well. Just made the second (Esper actually, Yay!)... A bit more for fun, but we'll see how it does.

lookoutimscary I'm not too sure how to delete the comments, sorry! I'll stop after this post though unless I think of some advice!

December 28, 2013 12:24 a.m.

emask Don''t worry about it! You can talk all you want!

Yay!

Actually, is Magma Jet worth the higher cost yet slight deck manipulation here? Black does have more access to draw like Sign in Blood or expensive Mr. BOB...

Just a thought.

emask The only thing is your graveyard becomes your library/hand and you can't scry your library

Right, okay. I wasn't sure if it would be worth replacing the Lightning Bolt s since you're just running 2. .

December 28, 2013 5:27 p.m.

No I understand where you're coming from emask just sometimes one less mana and one more damage is more important, especially when you don't use your library much

For sure. I prefer Lightning Bolt as well. Most my suggestions are just ideas I'm throwing out there, so no worries at all! I'm a big fan of low cost/curve decks and strategies.

I've had luck with Epochrasite and Shrapnel Blast in the past. Not saying you should change your deck or anything, just sharing ideas again. I had a few more artifacts to sacrifice/discard for things like Thirst for Knowledge and Shrapnel Blast , but found blasting the Epochrasite was very helpful since it would come back relatively soon. AEther Vial was another good card at cheating Epochrasite into play and/or saccing for Shrapnel Blast .

Not sure if Epochrasite or Shrapnel Blast would find a home in your list without changing things up quite a bit, but figured I'd mention it. Again, just a thought! Not necessarily a suggestion!

Oh, and is Mulch worth playing here?

December 28, 2013 6:08 p.m.

emask Life from the Loam is a reverse Mulch that works in the graveyard (where most of this deck happens)

No worries, I understand. I thought it would help you fill your graveyard with a few of your dredge critters and spells, that's all.
